Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 8/9/21

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Tuesday, July 27th
Officers responded to a report of a tree on a house at an address on 10th Avenue. There were no injuries.
Officers received a call from a female reporting that a pull behind stroller that connects to her bike was stolen from an address on N. Hogan Street two weeks prior, but she had not reported it until now. She also told officers that she believed she saw the stroller in a bike rack at another location in town.
A subject came to the Safety Building to report that their bicycle had been stolen from outside their apartment on Charlotte Street the night before, between 2:00 and 7:00 AM. It was described as a green Haro BMX bike with pegs on the front. It was valued at $800.
Officers responded to a call from a female at an address on Virginia Street reporting that a few nights earlier, officers had been at her house and arrested a subject. They were now packing up the subject’s clothing and found a needle and a baggie and wanted to know what to do with it. Officers disposed of an empty jewel bang and broken syringe.
Officers received a call from a female reporting that her vehicle had been parked in the lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 and a windshield wiper, antenna and the passenger side mirror were damaged. The wiper and antenna had been broken off and the mirror was bent. She told officers that the vehicle had been parked there from 10:30 PM on 7/25/21 to 4:30 PM on 7/26/21.
Officers conducted a follow-up investigation at an address on 6th Avenue. A subject was taken into custody.
Wednesday, July 28th
Officers conducted a follow-up investigation at an address on Ackley Street. A subject was taken into custody.
Thursday, July 29th
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Charlotte Street and Hwy. 64. There was some lane blockage but no injuries.
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at an area business on 6th Avenue. Officers spoke with the individual at length. There appeared to be a misunderstanding and the subject was unhappy.
Officers responded to a call from a subject requesting a welfare check on a male subject on Edison Street. The caller told officers that there was a male subject in the bushes in the back yard. When they had approached the subject there was no reaction and the subject did not appear to breathing well. Officers determined that the male subject was heavily intoxicated. He was now up and fine. He was escorted to another location.
Friday, July 30th
Officers responded to a report of an attempted theft at an address on Dorr Street. The caller told officers that two male subjects had been outside by the caller’s motorcycle. The subjects then took off on foot without the motorcycle in an unknown direction of travel. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the subjects.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in Progress at an address on Plattsburg Street. The caller told officers that a male subject had broken into the house and was found sleeping in the bed. They now had the subject trapped in the room. The male subject was taken into custody.
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the northbound lane on Neva Road. One vehicle was towed.
Officers responded to a report of a theft at an area business on Neva Road. The subject was cited for retail theft.
Officers received a report of a theft at an address on Watson Street. The caller told officers that they had made an agreement with a male subject in October of 2020 that they could live at the location while he was doing renovations there. The male subject was told that he had to leave in May and he was given until the end of July to get his belongs. When they arrived at the house today, the caller told officers that the back door was kicked in and items were missing.
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at the fairgrounds on Neva Road.
Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. A subject was taken into custody.
Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation (operating while intoxicated related), misdemeanor bail jumping and three Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrants.
Saturday, July 31st
Officers responded to a report of retail theft at an area business on Hwy. 64. The business had a male and a female subject in custody. One of the subjects had an open case in Milwaukee for armed robbery and being party to a crime. Officers arrested the subject.
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at an address on Lincoln Street.
Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress between to two subjects at the fairgrounds on Neva Road.
Officers responded to a report of retail theft at an area business on Hwy. 64.
Officers assisted another agency with a warrant arrest at an address on 5th Avenue. The subject was taken into custody.
Sunday, August 1st
Officers were out with an intoxicated male subject that had fallen in the 600 block of Clermont Street. The subject declined EMS. He was given a ride home.
Officers received a call from a male at an address on 6th Avenue reporting that sometime during the night his bike was stolen from right outside his door. The bike was a black Road Runner. The caller told officers that it was last seen at 2:30 AM. The bike was valued at $75.00.
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of the fairgrounds on Neva Road. Property damage only.
Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at the fairgrounds on Neva Road. A male subject told officers that he and another subject started fighting when another male subject jumped in, grabbed him around the neck and choked him out.
Officers responded to a report of an accident at 4th Avenue and Superior Street involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was injured but did not want EMS. The vehicle had left the scene going south on Hwy. 45. The vehicle was described as a dark gray, 2010 or newer Chevy Malibu or Impala. The driver was described as a male subject in his late 20’s to 30’s, approximately 165 lbs.
Monday, August 2nd
Officers responded to a report of a theft at the fairgrounds on Neva Road.
Tuesday, August 3rd
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at an address on 3rd Avenue.
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at an address on Dorr Street.
Officers assisted another agency at an address on Charlotte Street. A search was conducted. Officers discovered that a subject was carrying a concealed knife. A male subject was taken into custody.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary at an address on S. Superior Street. A window had been broken and a duffel bag and a flat screen tv had been stolen. A 4 door older sedan took off from the scene about 10 minutes prior to the call. The caller told officers that there were 4 people in the vehicle and that a subject with long brown hair was driving.
Officers executed a search warrant at an address on 6th Avenue. Some drugs and drug paraphernalia were found. Charges were referred for a subject that left just prior the officer’s arrival.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT
Wednesday, July 28th
Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. G and Hwy. 45. A subject was taken into custody.
Officers responded to a fire call on Hwy. 45 in Elcho. Some wires were sparking from touching a tree. The Elcho Fire Department was on the scene. The power company was notified.
Thursday, July 29th
Officers responded to a report of a prowler at an address on Hwy. 52. The female caller told officers that approximately 30 minutes ago a subject was looking in the window. Then when the caller took the dog out 5 minutes ago, the male subject was standing on the road staring at her. The male subject was described as wearing scrubby dark clothes.
Monday, August 2nd
Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 & Cty. Rd. C. Officers escorted the vehicle to Langlade Hospital as a female in the vehicle was in labor.
Tuesday, August 3rd
Officers responded to a fire call at Cty. Rd. P and Cty. Rd. M. A farm truck had driven into the field and some subjects noticed that it was smoking. The witnesses believed that some of the hay/straw got caught in the drive shaft. The truck was moved and the hay/straw underneath was on fire. They attempted to get the fire extinguished but it took off too quickly. The Wolf River Fire Department arrived on the scene. Several acres were burned.
Officers received a call from a male subject on Sunset Road reporting that he had allowed a subject to use a pop up camper and the person then took it. The caller stated that the camper went missing on 7/29/21.
