Allan Frisch, of Antigo, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Care Partners under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 92 years old. He was born on July 3, 1924 in Antigo, a son of Ignatius and Martha (Petrowski) Frisch.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1944.
Allan served in the United States Army from July 5, 1943 to March 8, 1946 in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the first troops to enter and begin the occupation of Japan.
Following military service he worked in Chicago for Western Electric (Bell Telephone).
From September 1949 to retirement in July 1986, Allan worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. For many years he was stationed in Green Bay working as a brakeman and conductor with the Lakeshore Division. After retirement he returned to Antigo.
Allan fished, water skied and snow skied, and was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. He enjoyed friendship and conversation with his McDonald's coffee group.
Survivors include special friend Janet Reznichek, Antigo; two brothers, Clarence "Con" Frisch (Shirley Larson), Antigo, Thomas Frisch, Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Elvera Frisch, Antigo; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Delmar and Donald Frisch, and a sister-in-law, Audrey Frisch.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday November 26, 2016 at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. David Schmidt, officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum where the Antigo Veterans will conduct military rites.
Visitation will be 9 - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Bradley Funeral Home.
