AHS Student Athlete of the Week
Jackson Smits - Varsity Boys’ Soccer
“Jackson was one of our captains for varsity boys’ soccer this year. He has been reliable all season, and has set a positive leadership example for the team. He has been crucial to our defense, and never ever gives up. He has played all four years and has always worked hard to improve himself and our soccer program. I’m proud of him and can’t thank him enough for his contribution to Antigo Soccer.” – From Coach Ben Wilhelm
Middle School Athletes of the Week
“Greta comes to practice with a willingness to learn and get better. She works hard at all of the drills: hustles, takes coaches’ direction well, finishes drills, encourages others, is very focused at practice and games, and takes a leadership role as well. She enjoys having fun and is positive with her teammates, encouraging them, cheering with them, and always smiling. Greta has learned a lot and grown as a volleyball player this season, especially with her play at the net!” – From Coach Laurie Meronk
“Logan’s teammates voted for him to become the athlete of the week. They respect Logan’s work ethic and look up to him as a leader. Logan has been a part of the middle school cross country team since he was a sixth grader. Logan has shown great improvement to become one of the top place finishers for the boy’s team. He is always reliable and works hard. Even though Logan finishes as one of the top-place finishers most meets, he always cheers on those who are still running. We are going to miss Logan next year, but [we] can’t wait to see him perform on the high school cross country team.” – From Coach Andrea Kohler
