Antigo Boys Middle School Team takes 3rd place at State

Posted

Coach Tom Kubeny’s commented on the teams performance. “The Boys Middle School Bowling team competed in the Singles and Team events on Saturday at Weston Lanes. All five boys competed in singles first with Kyle Schedlbauer and Jared McFarlane tying for 4th place with 596 series. Schedlbauer had the high game of the day with a 266.”

“The team of Jake Fischer, Toby Dieck, Will Kubeny, Schedlbauer and McFarlane got off to a slow start. After the first 4 games we weren’t even in the top ten. The next set of 4 games was highlighted with a 226 start which helped to jump the team into 5th place. The last set is where things got interesting. Still not bowling to our ability, the team really gelled together and stepped up and capped their season with a 3rd place finish. At a point where it looked like we wouldn’t medal, these boys showed a lot of character and class and put on an awesome show. It was very exciting to watch how they never quit. I am so very proud of these young men. All but Kubeny will be moving on to an already successful high school program next year.”

The top 40 boys teams in the state competed, bowling 12 baker games. Top teams:
