Antigo Elk Teen of the Month Recognition

One male and one female will be selected each month September through April and will then be eligible for the award of Teenager of the Year along with a monetary scholarship - which will be awarded at the annual recognition banquet in May at the Antigo Elks Lodge. All recipients will be recognized at the annual dinner banquet.

Antigo Elk Teen of the Month Recognition

One male and one female will be selected each month September through April and will then be eligible for the award of Teenager of the Year along with a monetary scholarship - which will be awarded at the annual recognition banquet in May at the Antigo Elks Lodge. All recipients will be recognized at the annual dinner banquet.

Ava Kakes was chosen to be recognized as Elk Teen of the Month for October2024 & is now eligible for Teenager of the Year. She attended Spring Valley & East Middle School before attending Antigo High School. She is President of the Drama Club & VP of Student Council, participates in dance & sports; she even performed at the Jerry Awards.

Her letter of recommendation boasts the growth Ava has displayed over her HS career. The letter continues to note the areas of tremendous improvement that became opportunities for her and Ava’s determination to be comfortable in her own skin. She attributes much of her ‘finding herself’ to her discovering and full immersion in performing arts, where she continues to thrive. She also enjoys reading and writing.

Michael Hagerty was chosen to be recognized as Elk Teen of the Month for October 2024 & is now eligible for Teenager of the Year. He attended All Saints Catholic School before attending Antigo High School. He has been heavily involved in Football, Hockey, Tennis & Basketball, as well as active in Golf, National Honor Society and 4H.

His letter of recommendation emphasized his strong communication skills & adaptability. The letter continues to speak on his strengths and favorable qualities that will continue to generate positive output long past high school. With a cumulative GPA of 4.133, he academically 8th in a class of 178. His hobbies include working out, graphic design & video games.
