Antigo & Langlade Co Police Reports

Spring might be trying to peek through the Wisconsin clouds, but the local blotter stays busy as ever. From loose Great Danes to high-speed Silverados and everything in between, here is your look at the Langlade County and Antigo incident reports for the week of April 6th through April 13th, 2026.

Monday, April 6, 2026

The week kicked off in the early hours with a traffic stop at Superior St and Irving St, where a driver received a 10-day written warning (WW) for registration issues. Shortly after, officers performed a hospital beat at Aspirus Langlade Hospital on E 5th Ave. By mid-morning, police were mediating a property line dispute between neighbors and handling a flurry of fraud and identity theft reports in the safety building lobby. The afternoon brought animal concerns, including a report of a dog mix attempting to attack a neighbor near 5th Ave, though the owner was not home to receive their card. As evening fell, officers responded to a juvenile offense and later assisted in securing a dog at the Humane Society after its owner was evicted. The day wound down with a retail theft report and an injured deer on Aurora St, though the animal proved too elusive for officers to assist.

Tuesday began with routine bank deposits and early morning traffic enforcement, including a stop at 5th Ave and Watson St that resulted in citations for speeding and a seatbelt violation. Much of the morning was dedicated to community safety, with officers manning school crossings at 5th Ave and Deleglise St and later at Superior St. A welfare check on a resident resulted in a "10-2" (all okay) after the individual confirmed they didn't need assistance. Fraud remained a theme with another lobby report in the afternoon. Animal control was back in action by 4:30 PM, as officers wrangled loose goats near S Superior St and Hickory St after a gate was left open. The night ended on a serious note with a warrant arrest following a traffic stop on Neva Rd, where the subject was taken into custody.

Wednesday, April 8, 2026

Wednesday's peace was interrupted early by a 911 hang-up on Our Dr, where a woman reported her boyfriend was throwing things and making her feel unsafe; fortunately, the situation was "10-2" by the time deputies arrived as the male made plans to leave. Traffic stops at Superior St and 9th Ave and State Rd 64 resulted in a verbal warning (VW) for speed and a citation for a stop sign violation, respectively. A report of abandoned dogs on State Rd 64 turned out to be a civil misunderstanding, as the tenant was still residing at the property. In the afternoon, a minor two-vehicle accident occurred on County Rd B involving a Hyundai and a GMC truck, though parties simply exchanged insurance. The evening saw a flurry of speeding warnings on S Superior St and a warrant arrest that put one subject in custody by 11:21 PM.

Thursday, April 9, 2026

The morning began with several "10-46" motorist assists, including a broken-down Chevy Silverado on State Rd 55 and a grey Silverado near US 45 and County Rd D that was eventually towed. Mid-afternoon turned chaotic when a motorcycle accident was reported on State Rd 64; the driver sustained facial lacerations and the bike had to be towed, but the roadway was cleared quickly. A welfare check on Burgert Ln provided a bit of relief when the "deceased" homeowner reported by a scrap buyer turned out to be very much alive and simply returning from a walk with a neighbor. The day ended with a civil dispute over shampoo and tweezers on Red Pine Ln and a 911 hang-up involving a Spanish-speaking female on S Superior St who was found to have a confirmed warrant and was taken into custody.

Friday, April 10, 2026

Friday started with animal complaints, including a dog running loose near Superior St and Freiburger Ave that neighbors feared might bite. A citizen on a street corner received help after their wheelchair battery died near traffic. Lockouts and welfare checks populated the midday hours, with one resident requesting help getting back into their house. Fraud made its daily appearance in the lobby, followed by a theft report where a victim claimed money was stolen from their purse. In the evening, a suspicious activity report at a Kwik Trip on State Rd 64 involved a distraught individual who had fallen in a bathroom; though they left before officers arrived, a welfare check was requested. The night concluded with a series of vehicle equipment warnings and a final "10-2" bank deposit at CoVantage Credit Union.

Saturday, April 11, 2026

Saturday was a heavy day for traffic enforcement. A stop at Graham Ave and Superior St in the middle of the night resulted in a citation for speed. Later, a report of a vehicle all over the road headed into Langlade County led to a field sobriety test; luckily, the driver was "negative 10-55" (not impaired). Morning patrols on Arctic St resulted in a subject being taken into custody for not carrying a driver's license and having no insurance. Suspicious activity was reported regarding a potential sex offender registry violation, but the subject was "UTL" (unable to locate). As the sun went down, neighbors on Graham Ave complained about smells and noise from a nearby apartment; the parties were counseled and the gathering dispersed.

Sunday, April 12, 2026

Sunday morning saw a mental health call and a suspicious activity report involving a 911 dial. A friendly dog was reported loose on Freiburger Ave, having previously escaped the day before. Traffic enforcement at 5th Ave and Clermont St led to seatbelt citations for both a driver and their passenger. The afternoon was filled with verbal warnings for speed and registration across Superior St and 7th Ave. The day's most dramatic moment came in the evening when a caller reported an intoxicated driver on Maple Rd; officers located the vehicle unoccupied behind a building. The night ended with a disorderly conduct call regarding people pounding on walls, though everything was "10-2" upon officer arrival.

Monday, April 13, 2026

The new week began with a "10-11" dog call near the south Kwik Trip, where a found dog was taken to the Humane Society. A major accident with injuries occurred at 7th Ave and Morse St during the morning commute, requiring two vehicles to be towed by Marty’s. Criminal damage was reported at a local park, and a stolen vehicle report was filed for a truck rented on April 6th that was never returned. The truck was later recovered in Brown Deer and towed to a U-Haul dealer in Milwaukee. Finally, a warrant check at the Probation and Parole office led to a subject being detained and transported to corrections without incident.
