Pokémon:
Still playing Pokémon Go, a mobile game that swept the nation? If so the Antigo Police Department has a few tips on how to stay safe while doing so. Parents, if your children are still playing it may be a good idea to speak with them and share these ideas.
-Pokémon is notorious for draining your devices battery. If you are headed out for the long adventure of catching Pokémon, bring an extra battery or your charger.
-If you are going out at night, wear bright clothing so you are visible to traffic and other people. Also keep in mind the City’s curfew ordinance
- Kids that are playing without an adult should have an emergency contact card with them with their parents and other trusted adults phone numbers listed.
- Tell someone you are going to be playing and let them know how long you will be out.
- Invite your friends. Playing Pokémon with a friend will be more fun and much safer.
-Remember to follow all trail and park rules, and be mindful of people’s privacy and their property by not trespassing.
-Use common sense and don’t let yourself fall into a bad situation because you were not paying attention. It’s good to focus on the game, but always be aware of your surroundings.
Enjoy, and stay safe.
