ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, October 17th
8:55 PM Officers responded a call from West Elementary School requesting an officer for an out of control female student. The student was released from the school to her mother.
3:00 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had a video of two female subjects shoplifting. The subjects stole a cell phone charger on 10/15/16. They took the item into the bathroom and left the packaging there. Officers identified the two female subjects and would be following up with them. A non-consent statement was taken.
7:48 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting street races near an area business on 5th Avenue. She told officers that she could hear burnouts and vehicles races. Officers cleared the area and sent the subjects on their way.
Tuesday, October 18th
6:28 AM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a loud diesel truck had been running for a half hour near the caller’s house on Deleglise Street. All was quiet when the officers arrived.
8:43 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that a vehicle had been parked in their lot for over a week and they wanted it removed. Officers tried to contact the vehicle’s owner, but were unable to reach him. The business had the vehicle towed, and held for the bill.
2:15 PM Officers responded to a call from a citizen reporting that there was a stray male Brindle Terrier mix dog at an area business on Superior Street. The dog had a collar, but no tags. Officers took the dog to the Humane Society.
8:21 PM Officers responded to a report of a bunch of kids fighting in the parking lot behind an area business on 5th Avenue. The caller stated that they were leaving in their vehicles. Officers located some of the subjects on Neva Road. Officers told the subjects to stay away from several area businesses due to complaints from citizens and business owners for loitering, noise, burnouts, racing and more.
8:33 PM Officers stopped vehicles at an area business on Neva Road. One driver was cited for an improper left turn and warned for unnecessary acceleration and loitering at another area business on Hwy. 64. Another driver was warned for driving with no headlights and loitering at another area business on Hwy. 64.
8:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and a suspended registration.
Wednesday, October 19th
5:56 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Industrial Park Road. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
9:40AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Clermont Street reporting someone put a bunch of garbage and building materials in their dumpster. A name was found on some of the items. Officers spoke with a couple on 1st Avenue. They were warned that if they dumped any more items, anywhere illegally, they would be charged.
12:50 Officers responded to a call from a female on Gowan Road reporting a possible burglary. She told officers that the screen on her window had been cut and she had earlier issues with break-ins. One window had a cut in the screen, one inch in length. It appeared to officers that a dog may have jumped on the screen. It did not appear that anyone had attempted entry. Officers told the female subject that they would patrol the area.
1:44 PM Officers responded to a call from North Elementary School on Graham Avenue reporting that a nine year old male student had a pocket knife with him at school. The subject had never opened the knife or made any threats. When officers spoke with the boy, he knew that what he had done was wrong.
3:04 PM Officers responded to a call from Antigo Middle School reporting that a male student had brought a pocket knife to school with him. One male student had brought three knives to school. He gave one knife to a friend as a gift. That student then showed his gift to another student, who reported the knife. The blade was never opened and no threats were made. The male student turned in the knife and told officers about the other male student with the other two knives.
3:30 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. Property damage only. An accident report was filed.
10:34 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that a male party was lying on the ground by a sign at 5th Avenue and Elm Street. The caller stated that the male subject moved a bit when he was touched. Officers gave the intoxicated male subject a ride to his mother’s house.
Thursday, October 20th
1:45 AM Officers were out with a vehicle at Lake Park on Hudson Street. The homeless subject was told to move along.
2:49 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Rusch Road. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
7:45 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Milton Street reporting damage to some of their products overnight. Several items were broken. The perpetrators appeared to have come off of 8th Avenue and used paving blocks to break the other items. The business requested an extra patrol.
1:33 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that her son’s bike was stolen from Antigo Middle School a couple of weeks ago. It was a boy’s mountain bike, silver with lime green. It was fairly new, but the hand grips were worn off.
2:11 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on Deleglise Street reporting that her medication was stolen from her vehicle over the past week. The vehicle was unlocked. There were no suspects. Officers advised the female to keep her vehicle locked and her valuables in the house.
3:13 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Western Road and 1st Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
4:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his vehicle was hit by another vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The caller’s vehicle was parked. The other vehicle turned too wide and hit his vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle left the scene. Another customer wrote down the vehicle’s license plate number. Officers tracked down the female driver of the other vehicle, who admitted to the accident.
7:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance and was given a warning for an expired license.
Friday, October 21st
12:52 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
10:56 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her vehicle was keyed. She gave officers the name of a female suspect. Officers spoke with the female subject who denied any involvement.
4:26 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that a former employee just broke down the door demanding a paycheck. The female subject left after an argument. It was unknown if it was by foot or in a vehicle. Officers spoke with the female subject who stated that the business had refused to pay her. Officers gave the female’s address to the owner of the business so that they could send her a check.
5:33 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that they were holding a female shoplifter. The female subject was referred for retail theft.
Saturday, October 22nd
10:02 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a red Chevy Impala was swerving and driving about 15 MPH under the speed limit, westbound on Hwy. 64. The vehicle then turned north on Hwy. 45. Officers stopped the vehicle on Hwy. 45. The male driver was not intoxicated. He was advised of the complaint.
11:27 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. The male driver was cited for speed.
Sunday, October 23rd
12:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
12:27 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
1:17 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
9:33 AM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a African-American male wearing a red hoodie going in and out of vehicles in the lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers talked to the male subject who stated that he was staying with his sister on Charlotte Street.
3:25 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Mendlik Street and Neva Road. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
5:17 PM Officers responded to a report of a fight at the east shelter of City Park on Aurora Street involving four adult females. All four females were sent on their way. Two of the females were advised by officers that jail was probable if it occurred again.
6:14 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 9th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a citation for non-registration of vehicle and given a warning for speed.
Monday, October 24th
12:41 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Hudson Street. The driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended.
7:33 AM Officers responded to a report of a dark blue Jeep Grand Cherokee in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street that had a lot of smoke inside the vehicle, that did not appear to be cigarette smoke. The vehicle was gone upon the officers arrival, but they checked the area.
8:16 AM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting a lost or stolen wallet from Saturday night. The female noticed that it was missing on Sunday morning. The female subject gave officers a description of the wallet and its contents. She told officers that she last remembered seeing it at an area business on Edison Street on Saturday night. Officers advised the female subject to cancel all of her credit cards and they would keep the report on file.
9:06 AM Officers received a call from a crossing guard at 5th Avenue and Deleglise Street reporting that a silver SUV regularly rolls thru the stop sign, spins its tires and today blew the crossing. They gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. They wanted the driver warned.
9:17 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Milton Street reporting additional criminal damage to their property. There were broken and tipped over blocks. A table was also broken. It occurred after 4:00 PM on 10/21/16. Photos were taken. The business requested an extra patrol.
9:45 AM Officers received a report of retail theft at an area business on Neva Road on 9/26/16. Officers received the name of the male suspect. Officers were investigating.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, October 19th
6:46 PM Officers received a call from a male subject at 2nd Avenue Road and Center Road reporting that he heard a shot two hours earlier and just heard another one. The caller stated that a vehicle was stopped halfway down Center Road between 2nd Avenue and Cty Rd. CC. When the caller went to the area, he saw a male subject running from the woods to his car, he threw something in the trunk and left. He gave officers the license plate number. Officers were advised and copy of the report was forwarded to the DNR.
Thursday, October 20th
5:49 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that his son rolled his truck at Cty. Rd. A and Cty. Rd. O. He was not injured and his Toyota truck was upright in a field. The front tires were blown, the driver’s window was broken and the rear quarter panel on the driver’s side was pushed in. The male subject had been following his father. He was adjusting the heat in the truck, hit the gravel, overcorrected and ended up in the field.
Friday, October 21st
2:44 PM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus milk truck accident on Hwy. 45. The male driver of the milk truck was transported to Langlade Hospital. The milk truck was towed. A state report was filed.
3:03 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Hwy. 55 reporting that his mailbox was smashed and laying all over. The caller was unsure when it happened. He stated that road work was being done in the area, however no one stopped and advised him that they had hit his mailbox.
Saturday, October 22nd
5:06 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Cty. Rd. S and Clay Road. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense and possession of marijuana. He was also cited for operating after suspension and operating left of center.
9:26 AM Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting a truck versus car accident on Cty. Rd. S and Hwy. 64. It was unknown if there were any injuries. Both vehicles were still in the roadway. The female driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to stop and inattentive driving. Both vehicles were towed.
10:00 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on Waterpower Road reporting a stolen outboard motor from his cabin within the last three weeks. The padlock had been cut and removed. It was a 2000 Mercury 15HP short shaft outboard, 2 stroke with fins. Officers believed it was taken before the last rain storm because the boat was full of water. Photos were taken. There were no suspects.
11:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty Road D and Sugarbush Road. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. He was also issued citations for failure to stop at a stop sign and open intoxicants.
12:45 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that she had sent two wires of money to Jamaica for Publisher’s Clearing House and now they were asking her for more money. She had already sent two wires of money for approximately $570 total. They had now wanted $2,100, then dropped it down to $500. When the female subject went to get this money, someone advised her that they thought it was a scam. The male subject that the female had talked to had given her numerous different names and had called from at least three different phone numbers. The male subject called a dozen times while the reporting female was talking with officers. Officers assisted the female with blocking their phone number from her phone. 10/25/16 The female subject called officers and informed them that she was receiving more phone calls asking for more money.
12:48 PM Officers were out with a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 52 and Porky Lane. There was no one around. The vehicle was a black Mercedes. The vehicle was towed. A male subject called the Sheriff’s office looking for his vehicle. He denied that he had been drinking. He said that a bear ran out, making him lose control. He was informed he would be charged with operating after revocation and would be cited for failure to have control.
Sunday, October 23rd
3:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that a gun was stolen from his truck while it was parked at his business on Hwy. 64 in Elton. It was taken some time between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM on 10/21/16. The gun was a Beretta 380 caliber, with a gun metal finish. It was valued at $700. It had been in a backpack in the truck.
7:10 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he lost his crossbow near the intersection of Cty. Rd. G and Koszarek Road. He had finished hunting at approximately 6:45 PM and drove off with the tailgate down. He stated that the crossbow was in a hard black case. It was valued at $500.
9:32 PM Officers responded to a call from the jail requesting a deputy for drugs found in a female’s cell. While giving a female some water, an officer noticed three jewel bags on the mattress. Officers searched the cell. The female subject was transferred to Langlade Hospital for medical clearance. The substances were tested. Results found that the substances were “crack” cocaine, cocaine, meth, marijuana and a prescription pill.
Monday, October 24th
6:07 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female advising them that she drove past a man at Cty Rd. F and Orchard Road that was waving his arms. He appeared to be on a cell phone. The caller did not see a vehicle. Officers received a second call from a female calling to report that a male subject went into the ditch. She was with him in her truck. The vehicle was towed.
Tuesday, October 25th
AM Officers responded to a report that a female driver stuck a feed wagon at Cty. Rd. P and McGee Road. She couldn’t get out. It was unknown if she was injured, but she was alert and speaking. The female subject was transported to Langlade Hospital. Her vehicle was towed. The male subject who owned the wagon stated that he was closing the gate on the north side of the road when the female driver struck the rear corner of the feeder wagon that was partially in the roadway.
12:32 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting that a blue 2004 Ford truck was all over the road on Hwy. 45 southbound from Cty. Rd. I. Officers stopped the male driver at Neva Road and Memory Lane. He did not think that he was swerving, but he told officers that he would pay more attention.
