Antigo Police & Langlade Co. Sheriff Reports for 12/19/16

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, December 5th

12:09 PM A male subject from Arizona came to the Safety Building to report scratches in his rental car. He was unsure where or when the damage occurred. A voluntary report was filed.

1:02 PM Officers responded to a report from the Street Department that a male subject plowed snow onto the street after they had been cleared it off at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. Officers spoke with the male subject who told officers that it would not happen again.

3:13 PM Officers cited a male student for possession of tobacco at Antigo High School. He was also warned about smoking an e-cigarette on the bus.

3:14 PM Officers cited a male student for starting a physical altercation with another male student at Antigo Middle School.

3:15 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for his disruptive and disrespectful behavior at the Antigo Middle School.

6:04 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report she had not received a package that Federal Express told her that they delivered to her residence on Clermont Street on November 25th. The female told officers that she ordered a big screen television on November 20th and the delivery company told her that they delivered it on November 25th, but she did not receive the package. She contacted the company that she ordered the television from and they advised her to file a police report.

6:21 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that a person was trespassing on his property on North Avenue. He told officers that he heard a crunching noise around 2:00 AM, and he saw tracks in the snow the last two times it has snowed. He told officers that the tracks looked like they were from a size 12 tennis shoe. Officers were going to monitor the situation and told the male subject to call the next time he heard noises.

7:38 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting two male juvenile shoplifters. Officers cited both male subjects for retail theft and they were transported to their residences.

11:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was cited for an expired registration.

Tuesday, December 6th

12:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 64 and Charlotte Street. The driver was cited for operating without a license.

10:04 AM Officers responded to a call from the Street Department reporting a camper parked in the right of way on McMillan Avenue. The camper needed to be moved to plow snow. The owner was contacted. He told officers that he was going to move the camper.

12:25 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that they had the same female subject shoplifting again, and they had it on video. Officers made contact with the female subject and her mother. The subjects told officers that they would make contact with the business owner to get the matter resolved. Officers advised the business owner of their plans.

1:14 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only. A voluntary report was filed.

3:47 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Weed Street reporting the theft of two checks from his checkbook. He told officers the numbers of the two checks. He also gave officers the name of a possible male and female suspect. He found out from his bank that one of the checks had already been cashed, but the other one had not turned up yet. Officers were investigating.

Wednesday, December 7th

1:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. The vehicle was parked in a municipal lot.

12:20 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that someone broke into the back door at his residence on 5th Avenue. Nothing was taken. The door was broken, but no tracks were by the back door other than the callers. The caller told officers that he thought the suspects were looking for medication. Officers gave the male subject advice on how to better lock the door.

12:52 PM The corporate office of an area business on Neva Road sent a copy of a no trespassing order to the Safety Building with information about a female subject that would no longer be allowed in any of their stores since the female subject shoplifted. The information was put on file.

5:48 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that there was a two vehicle accident in front of the fire department on Edison Street. There were no injuries.

10:40 PM Officers responded to a request from the Forest County Sheriff’s Department to speak with a subject that was brought to the Langlade Hospital from Forest County after an accident. The subject consented to a blood draw. A report and all the paperwork were sent to Forest County.

Thursday, December 8th

12:57 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.

12:27 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only. There were no injuries.

5:53 PM Officers responded to a report of the theft of over 300 DVDs, games, etc. Officers were in contact with an area business on 5th Avenue that stated that some kids did sell them over 100 DVDs, Blu-rays & games that day. A female subject was arrested on a probation hold.

9:13 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street requesting the removal of at least one of two people who would not stop arguing in the business. One was a male subject with glasses and wearing a hoodie. The other was a female subject in yellow. They had been asked more than one time to leave. The subjects had separated and were gone upon the officers arrival.

Friday, December 9th

7:21 AM Officers responded to an accident at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 2 was stopped at a stop sign and proceeded east across Superior Street. Vehicle 1 was stopped at a stop sign and attempted to make a left turn and crashed into Vehicle 2.

9:14 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject representing the Boy Scouts reporting that one member had never turned in his popcorn sheet or money and now people were questioning why they had not received their product. Officers talked with the male member who told them that he had lost the order form and found it later, but it was too late to get the popcorn. He was going around and returning the money to the people who had placed orders with him.

9:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a female requesting that officers look for a missing female juvenile at a couple of address in Antigo. Officers went to addresses on Clermont, Mary and Lincoln Streets. The female was located at a residence on Lincoln Street and was transported to the Oneida County line.

9:22 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting he was in a minivan at an area business on Superior Street and had just struck a sign in the median near another area business. The male subject explained to officers that he was southbound on Superior Street while eating an ice cream cone. He looked down at the cone and drove up on the median and struck a sign post. There was damage to the left front & left rear tire of his minivan. A sign was damaged at 1st Avenue and Superior Street.

9:42 PM Officers arrested a female subject on Wausau Road on a Langlade County warrant for failure to pay a fine for operating without a license. She was transported to Corrections.

10:03 PM Officers identified a female subject who tried to steal a television from an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers talked with the female subject who admitted to the attempt. She was referred for retail theft.

10:14 PM Officers were out at a residence on Clermont Street, after witnessing a male subject at that location. He was out on bond and was not supposed to be at that residence or in contact with a female subject at that residence. The male subject was arrested for felony bail jumping and was taken to Corrections.

Saturday, December 10th

2:20 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense.

2:31 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a restricted substance and was cited for speeding.

5:04 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 1 was southbound on Superior Street and the driver told officers that they had a green light. Vehicle 2 was on Superior Street and made a left turn onto 5th Avenue colliding with the other vehicle. The driver of Vehicle 2 told officers that they had a green arrow.

6:22 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she was missing medication. She told officers that she was visiting her boyfriend on 5th Avenue and they had left for about an hour and a half to do some shopping. When they returned, she noticed that several of her medications were missing. They believed that someone entered the house and stole the items. There were no suspects.

Sunday, December 11th

2:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was cited for operating without a license and operating without headlamps.

6:53 PM Officers responded to a call from female on 2nd Avenue reporting that a female subject spend the weekend at her residence and now medications were missing. The female caller was missing about 180 tablets of Gabapentin and about 20 Lyrica tablets. Officers contacted the female suspect and asked her to come in for an interview.

Monday, December 12th

12:30 AM Offices stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Thursday, December 8th

12:04 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting trespassing on his hunting land on Brown Bear Road in Gleason, off of Cty. Rd. J. He told officers that he had contacted the DNR who suggested that he file a report with the Sheriff’s department. It occurred sometime on 12/7/16. When the caller came to go hunting, he noticed two set of footprints in the snow and a sled trail that went out on his property for about 300 yards. He followed a blood trail that led to a gut pile. He also told officers that about 5 minutes before he reached the property, he met a gold colored truck with two younger male subjects with a large 8 or 10 point buck on the back of the truck. Officers were advised.

2:58 PM Officers received a call from the school counselor at the Elcho School reporting that there was a physical altercation between two male students. They requested that an officer stop by the next day to talk with the boys.

Friday, December 9th

6:38 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call from a female reporting that a big black truck with no taillights and pulling a trailer, was driving right on the line and going into the other lane. The caller was afraid that they would cause an accident. Officers initially observed the vehicle just west of Polar. They caught up to the vehicle at Orchard Road. The vehicle then passed another vehicle and was traveling at approximately 75 mph. Officers observed that the vehicle was tight to the center line. Officers initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle was finally stopped at Hwy 64 and Hwy. 52. The male driver stated to officers that he did not hear or see them earlier. Officers talked to him about his driving habits and advised him that he can’t go over the posted speed limit when passing another vehicle.

Saturday, December 10th

1:19 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he received a call that morning that seemed like a scam. He told officers that the caller ID came up Langlade County. He also gave officers the phone number that was listed. The call was about a credit card and how it was his last chance to reduce debt. The caller wanted officers to just have the information on file.

10:53 PM Officers responded to an OnStar report of a slide in accident on E. Duck Lake Road with no injuries. The vehicle was gone upon officers arrival. Updated OnStar coordinates placed the vehicle at a residence on E. Duck Lake Road.

Sunday, December 11th

5:59 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she went into a ditch and hit a tree on Hwy. 55, south of Cty. Rd. K. An address sign was also knocked down. A state report was filed.

8:08 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he rolled his truck on Hwy. 55 by 9 Mile Creek.

12:11 PM Officers responded to a call from the Highway Department reporting that male subject in a vehicle just hit a plow truck at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. N. A state report was filed.

Monday, December 12th

7:46 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting the theft of wood from property in the Town of Langlade off of Hwy. 52. It looked like someone took a truckload ($50) of pulp wood. The caller told officers that this was an ongoing problem. The male caller also told officers that he had a photo from a game camera. The photo was taken from a public access road. Officers were not sure if the wood was taken from county land or private land since both use the same roadway. Officers thought that the issue may be less criminal in nature and more about getting more signage and education about the area. Officers were following up.

7:03 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident versus a power line at Cty. Rd. DD. Lines were down. WPS was contacted. The Forest County Sheriff’s Office was contacted for assistance. When officers arrived the male driver was belligerent. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense and was taken to Langlade Hospital and then was taken to a facility on a 72 hour hold on the belief that he may have been a danger to himself.

Tuesday, December 13th

8:07 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report fraud. He had received a letter from the International Lottery Board S.L. Officers talked with the male subject and advised him that it was definitely a scam. The letter was scanned and placed on file.

3:59 PM Officers responded a call from a male reporting that he witnessed a small blue car run through a stop sign at Singer Road and Cty. Rd. N and into a field. The vehicle then spun around in the field and then back into the ditch. A younger male subject with dark hair and thick glasses got out of the vehicle, started running and went face-first into the snow. The caller asked the male subject if he needed help, and he told the caller that he wanted to use a phone. The male subject told the caller that he didn’t live far away, but then didn’t know where his house was. Another vehicle then came down the road and the male subject said that it was his friend and he got into that vehicle and left. They were last seen going eastbound on Cty. Rd. N. The vehicle was towed and held until the owner talked with a deputy. A male subject later called officers looking for the vehicle. He was advised that he needed to talk to a deputy about the accident. The male driver was to be cited for inattentive driving or failure to stop at a stop sign and possibly failure to notify the police about the accident.

5:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a blue, older model van was crossing both the fog and centerline going eastbound on Hwy. 64, west of Antigo. The vehicle then turned southbound on Cty. HH. Officers were unable to locate.

7:26 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a crash in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 45. There was only minor damage and no injuries.

Wednesday, December 14th

1:17 AM Officers responded to a call from an area towing company reporting that they were en route to a vehicle in a ditch at Cty. Rd C and Rangeline Road. There was no damage to report. The driver was not intoxicated.
