ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, August 15th
1:05 PM The manager of an area business on Neva Road stopped at the Safety Building to report that he wanted one of his employees arrested for theft. Video showed the employee step on a dropped $50 bill and then pick it up later. The manager later received the money back, but they still wanted to press charges. Officers issued the subject a citation for theft.
3:42 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 64 and Jerome Street. Property damage only. A state report was filed.
6:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Fred Street reporting that the neighbor’s dogs were in her yard. The caller had a daycare and stated that this could not keep happening. Officers warned the dog owner about the dogs. The dogs had chewed through the screen door to get out. The door was to be fixed.
6:16 PM Officers responded to a report of an abandoned bike by the swings at East Elementary School on 7th Avenue. Officers took the bike to the impound.
Tuesday, August 16th
12:10 AM Officers responded to anonymous report of a dog barking for days, locked inside a residence on Gruber Street with the windows open. Officers saw the dog. It was a yellow lab. It barked when officers arrived, but then quieted down. It was not tied up and did not appear to leave the yard. Officers spoke with the dog owner’s mother. The owner would take care of the dog.
9:23 AM Officers received a call from the employee of an area business on Hickory Street reporting that one of his drivers was bitten by a neighbor’s dog. Officers recommended that the male subject receive medical treatment. The dog that resides on Clermont Street was quarantined. Paperwork was faxed to the health department.
10:25 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Lincoln Street reporting that sometime after 9:20 PM last night, it appeared that someone tried to get into her car, and her car door handle was ripped off of the door. The vehicle was parked on 1st Avenue. The vehicle was locked and nothing of value was in view. Officers took photos. They also noticed scratches on the hood of the car.
12:06 PM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting that on Clermont Street, just past Graham to the north, there were vehicles parked on both sides of the road, making it difficult for traffic to get through. Officers issued one parking citation.
2:56 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting criminal damage to a fence on Clermont Street. Officers found out who caused the damage. Officers spoke with the father of the subject. He was advised, warned and told to have the fence fixed. The subject began fixing the fence before the officer’s departure.
6:12 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting a vehicle crossing the centerline, northbound on Hwy. 45 from Mapleview Road. The vehicle then turned east onto Forrest Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Pit Road. The male driver was not intoxicated. He was advised of the complaint.
6:18 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on Lincoln Street reporting that her Chihuahua puppy was missing. She told officers that she thought it may have been taken by two boys on scooters. The dog was white with a brown face. She wanted it on file in case someone brought in a dog.
7:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Weix Street reporting that a female subject was yelling obscenities at his daughter while she was jumping on the trampoline in their yard. Officers issued a citation to the female subject for disorderly conduct.
9:36 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that her daughter was hit by a teenage boy at Saratoga Park and then he smashed her phone. Officers were investigating.
10:28 PM Officers received a call from an employee of an area business on Neva Road reporting a stolen check for $200 that was cashed by a female subject. The male subject on the bank account had not given permission to the female subject to take a check. Officers were investigating.
Wednesday, August 17th
12:13 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting an “intruder” in her house on Badger Avenue. She did not think that her door was locked. She and her husband found the male subject in their kitchen. He was told to leave. The male subject did not say anything at all, and left out the back door. The female caller gave officers a description of the male subject. The male subject may have been someone that their daughter knew.
2:54 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 9th Avenue reporting a vehicle that has been parked by their business for a while. No one knew who it belonged to. Officers left a 48 hour parking ticket on 8/19/16. The vehicle will be then be towed, if not moved after that.
4:36 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that there were six miniature pinchers and another small dog in kennels on Edison Street without any food or water. A female subject was cited for having more than three dogs. All the animals were healthy and had water.
4:52 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
7:11 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Center Street. Officers issued citations to both the driver and passenger for failure to fasten their seatbelts.
7:36 PM Officers responded to a call from an area apartment building manager on 5th Avenue reporting that a male subject was there that had been told not to be on the premises. Officers issued a citation to the male subject for trespassing.
7:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was advised by another tenant at a building on Clermont Street that a male subject was sleeping in an apartment that should be vacant. Officers checked the area. No one was located. The front door was locked until the upstairs door could be repaired.
Thursday, August 18th
1:54 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Forrest Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating without a license, 2nd offense.
11:07 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting damage to his vehicle on Lincoln Street. Butter or something unknown was smeared on the front and rear windshield and handles. A used feminine product and a quarter were left on the windshield. There were no suspects.
11:49 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Mayfair Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
1:46 PM Officers responded to an accident at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. Very minor. There were no injuries. A voluntary accident report was filed.
11:20 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Dorr Street reporting that her son thought he saw someone by the bushes in their back yard. Officers were unable to locate anyone.
Friday, August 19th
12:28 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Dorr Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended.
2:24 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that a subject may be inside a house for sale on Lincoln Street. Officers found no one inside. The front door was broken. Some glass was also broken. The home owners would be contacting officers to file a complaint.
5:55 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Neva Road reporting that an ex-customer had threatened him. The male subject had threatened to shoot the male caller. Officers talked with the male subject. He admitted to making the comments. He told officers that he understood that he was in the wrong and he said that he would not hurt anyone.
10:16 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to turn in a bag of marijuana that she found at an area business on Hwy. 64. The bag was placed into evidence for destruction.
Saturday, August 20th
2:53 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Clermont Street reporting that three individuals were outside playing music very loudly and the lyrics to the music were vulgar. Officers told the individuals to move it along.
10:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a local business on Neva Road reporting that a female subject had locked her keys in her car and was being disorderly. Officers got the female subject calmed down and agreed to unlock her vehicle for her.
Sunday, August 21st
1:23 AM Officers responded to a call from a female caller reporting that a female subject who was laughing and holding a beer can was now lying in the roadway at Edison Street and 1st Avenue. The female subject was intoxicated, no medical issue. She was walking home and decided to lie down. She made it home.
9:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Memory Lane. Officers gave the driver a written warning for speed.
9:42 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Amon Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
1:20 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they were holding two juveniles for shoplifting. The male and female subjects were cited for retail theft and released.
1:51 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on Clermont Street reporting that two sets of lawn ornaments were stolen between 8/20/16 and 8/21/16. They were valued at $50 each. There were no suspects.
8:34 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, August 18th
4:40 PM Officers received a call from a male caller on S. Pratt Road reporting that the night before at 2:00 AM someone was trying to look in their window, between the curtains. The caller only saw a white streak. He believed that it may be the same person who was “peeping” on the neighbor. He did not state the name of the neighbor. Officers told the male to call back right away if it happened again. The caller requested an extra patrol.
Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her son was involved in a one vehicle accident on Hwy. H. She stated that he did not need an ambulance. He was just shook up. The vehicle was drivable. The male driver stated that he was reaching for his water bottle when he entered the west ditch on Hwy. H. He had been traveling northbound on Hwy. H. Officers issued the male subject a citation for inattentive driving. A state report was filed.
Friday, August 19th
11:31 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at St. Hwy. 45 and City. Rd. V. The male driver was arrested operating without a license and was cited for speed.
1:09 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he just witnessed a male subject strike another vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Dorr Street in Elcho. The owners of the vehicle that struck were still in the business and the male subject in the striking vehicle left the scene. The caller gave officers the name of the male subject. The owners of the struck vehicle were male aware of the damage. Officer arrested the male subject for operating after revocation/operating while intoxicated related and he was cited for hit & run property damage.
Saturday, August 20th
12:12 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Hwy. 52 who reported finding a syringe near the driveway while she was mowing. Officers picked up and disposed of the single syringe.
Sunday, August 21st
2:42 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Angle Road, on the curve. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. He was taken to Langlade Hospital for medical clearance and a blood draw.
5:59 PM Officers received a call from a male caller reporting that a male subject was bit by a dog while talking to a gentleman on Hwy. 52. The dog was on a chain attached to a tire and had dragged the tire to bite the male subject. The dog broke the skin of the male subject’s left leg. The male subject declined medical attention.
Monday, August 22nd
6:11 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle off of the road by an area business on S. Superior Street. Officers then received a second call from a female reporting the vehicle off the road vs a tree in her yard on S. Superior Street. She stated that the male driver was out of the car and walking around. The male driver was issued citations for operating after suspension and inattentive driving. An accident report was filed.
8:05 AM A male subject on 1st Avenue came to the Safety Building to report that he got a fraudulent check to pay for a boat he was selling on Craigslist. He had received a check for $4,800 from Tennessee Valley Bank for a male subject from Orlando, FL. The reporting male was supposed to cash the check and then mail $2,200 to the shipping company. He took the check to the bank, which found that the check to be worthless. The reporting male subject was not out any money. He was told to contact the police if he was contacted by the male subject again.
1:21 PM Officers responded to a call from the owner of an area business on Neva Road reporting damage to his building. Someone threw a rock through a screen on a window. No entry was gained. Nothing was missing. Two rocks had been thrown at the west facing window. Officers were also told that a couple of days earlier, a back door screen had been cut and it looked like someone may have been inside.
