ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, September 26th
8:49 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a creepy looking guy parked in a rusty white van at Clermont Street and 8th Avenue. Officers talked with the male subject. He was waiting for his boss, but they realized that he was waiting at the wrong location. The male subject was arrested for operating after revocation. He posted bond and officers gave him a ride to his job site.
9:40 AM Officers issued a citation for theft of library materials. Loss amount was $101.90.
9:42 AM Officers issued a citation for theft of library materials. Loss amount was $27.54.
9:59 AM Officers issued a citation for theft of library materials. Loss amount was $78.44.
11:16 AM Officers responded to a call reporting a black Audi vehicle with no plates traveling northbound on Superior Street from 5th Avenue at a high rate of speed. Officers stopped the vehicle at Graham Avenue. The male driver told officers that he would come in and register his vehicle.
3:10 PM Officers responded to a call from a semi driver reporting that a male driver in a gray Chevy Impala just cut him off, coming within inches of a crash at Neva Road and North Avenue. The vehicle continued southbound on Neva Road at a high rate of speed. Officers stopped the vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The male driver was advised of the complaint and warned about his driving habits.
5:15 PM Officers responded to a report of a bike in the alley on Dorr Street between 8th & 9th Avenue. It had been there for three days. The bike was taken to impound.
9:53 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The male driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended and was warned for speed.
10:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
Tuesday, September 27th
7:16 AM Officers responded to a call from the project manager of a job site on Superior Street reporting that some electrical wire was missing. ½ roll of 10 gauge copper wire (approximately 500 ft., worth $150) was missing. No other wire or tools were taken. There were no suspects.
2:54 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle one was eastbound on 6th Avenue. Vehicle two was westbound on 6th Avenue. Vehicle two crossed the intersection of 6th Avenue and Superior Street going straight. Vehicle one turned left to travel northbound on Superior Street. Vehicle one struck vehicle two. There were minor injuries to two people. An ambulance was paged. An accident report was filed.
8:32 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot behind an area business on 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
Wednesday, September 28th
7:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Sunset Drive and 8th Avenue. The female driver was cited for speed. An education pamphlet was issued.
2:11 PM Officers responded to a complaint of a male subject having too many chickens at his residence on 6th Avenue. The male subject had 15 chickens. Officers spoke with the subject about the ordinance. He told officers that he would relocate the chickens to a location outside the city limits.
3:10 PM Officers received a call about a male subject in a white Cadillac driving erratically and speeding at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The information was given the squads.
5:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that when she went to clean a home on 9th Avenue the back door was kicked open. Officers found no one in the residence. The home was in very bad shape. An extra patrol was requested.
6:52 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident on Lincoln Street. Vehicle two was parked. Vehicle one was backing up and collided with vehicle two. Property damage only.
Thursday, September 29th
12:26 AM Officers were out with a male subject at 2nd Avenue and Edison Street. The male subject was arrested on possession of narcotics, an illegally obtained prescription, drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping.
5:30 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Elmo Street and Park Street. The driver was cited for speed.
6:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Langlade Road and 2nd Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
2:51 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of Langlade Hospital. Vehicle two was legally parked. Vehicle one backed up and backed into vehicle two. Property damage only. A voluntary report was completed.
8:54 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Elm Street requesting an extra patrol that night. They reported that two younger male subjects had been hanging around the building a few times that day. One subject was described as having a Mohawk. Officers were advised.
11:44 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating after suspension, failure to fasten seatbelt and no insurance.
Friday, September 30th
4:31 PM Officers responded to a call reporting an abandoned bike near an area business on 5th Avenue. The caller stated that the bike had been there a couple of days. It was described as being a Ground Force, silver/green boy’s mountain bike. Officer took the bike to impound.
5:57 PM Officers were out with a male subject in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 45. The male subject was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and charged with possession with intent to deliver meth, drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.
8:26 PM Officers received a call reporting that some vehicles had been drag racing down North Avenue towards Clermont Street for the past few nights. The caller thought that one of the subjects lived by North Avenue and Clermont Street. He requested that officers make an extra patrol in the area.
Saturday, October 1st
1:05 AM Officers were out with a female subject at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The female was cited for open intoxicants off premises.
2:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Dorr Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance and failure to fasten their seatbelt.
3:10 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a house at the end of Deresch Street was playing loud music and someone just ran through their yard. Officers were out with a gray car in front of residence on Beattie Avenue. The male subject was cited for a noise ordinance and operating without a license.
8:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she almost hit a pedestrian that was walking southbound at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The caller stated that the pedestrian was very difficult to see. Officers located the pedestrian and gave her a ride to her destination.
Sunday, October 2nd
12:43 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that another female was trying to start a fight with her at an area business on Edison Street. The caller stated that the other female pulled her glasses off. Officers removed the female subject from the business and advised her to move on.
9:38 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he and his wife were out walking at 2nd Avenue and Fulton Street when a dog bit his arm. Officers located the dog’s owner on 2nd Avenue. The dog was not a pit bull. Paperwork was completed and faxed to the Health Department.
2:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Charlotte Street reporting that her apartment was broken into. It occurred between 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM. Several rooms were messed up. Prescriptions, cash and jewelry were taken. Officers talked with two of the neighbors who did not see anyone different entering the apartment.
7:52 PM The Antigo Fire Department requested assistance with a burning complaint. The Fire Department had received numerous complaints about a residence on Fred Street. Officers cited the female resident.
8:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a staff person at Langlade Hospital reporting a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The caller stated that it seemed to stop at each vehicle. It was described as a silver car. Officers were unable to locate.
8:11 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that a window screen was pulled out of his apartment window on Lincoln Street. The caller believed that someone had tried to gain entry but the window was locked.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, September 28th
6:24 PM Officers responded to several calls of a vehicle that went into a ditch and hit a power pole at Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 52. It was reported that the driver was out of the vehicle. Officers received a call from the driver. He stated that he was not injured and there was a wire lying down in the field. Officers contacted WPS for the down power pole. The highway department was contacted to fix the stop sign.
Friday, September 30th
12:10 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting a one car accident at Cty. Rd. TT and Cty. Rd.T. The airbags were deployed, but no one was in the vehicle. The reporting caller called officers back and said that the driver came running out from the trees and asked if the cops had been called. The caller told the male subject that they had not. Upon the officer’s arrival, the male driver fled the scene. The vehicle was towed and was being held. Officers left a message on the driver’s cell phone. The male driver did call officers. He was told that he needed to come in and speak with a deputy.
8:16 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Smith Avenue and Nantasket Street. The male driver was arrested for operating after revocation, failure to install ignition interlock device and bail jumping.
10:24 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Clermont Street. The male driver was arrested for operating without a license and two Langlade County warrants.
3:41 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting fraudulent charges on his bank account. The bank had been notified, but they requested a police report. The male subject was given a statement to complete.
Saturday, October 1st
4:43 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that a male subject pumped $15 in fuel, then said that he forgot his wallet. He said that he would be back in one hour, but the caller said that was two hours ago. The male subject left the business his name and address. 8:43 PM The male subject called officers stating that he had not forgotten and he would be contacting the business right away. 10/2/16 9:23 AM Officers received a call from the business. The male subject still hadn’t come in to pay.
6:04 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Cty. Rd. H reporting a missing child in a cornfield. It was reported that the 3 year old boy had been missing since 2:00 PM. The boy’s mother was driving around trying to find the boy. Multiple volunteers and jurisdictions were involved in the search. The missing boy was found at 10:30 AM on 10/2/16 and taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Sunday, October 2nd
11:15 AM Officers responded to a call from male employee of the Antigo Fire Department reporting an accident at the intersection of Cty. Rd. N and Hwy. 45 involving an Antigo Fire Department unit. The male driver of a Dodge Grand Caravan was stopped and waiting for traffic, before he could enter southbound on Hwy. 45. He started to move forward and then stopped again. The ambulance also began to move forward and hit the back of the van. It was an approximate 5mph collision.
10:51 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. J. Officers witnessed the vehicle almost cause a head-on crash at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. T. The male driver was issued a citation for passing into oncoming traffic.
Monday, October 3rd
7:47 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a barn fire on Hwy. H. The caller stated that a male family member had started the fire and was distressed after the recent death of another family member. Officers also talked with the ex-wife of the male subject who stated that he had called her that evening, sounding distressed. When fire departments arrived numerous buildings were engulfed. A body was later found inside the burned out home. The sheriff’s office was waiting for an autopsy and arson investigation to be completed.
Tuesday, October 4th
9:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a black heifer had been on the loose for over six weeks near Gallenberg Road and Hwy. 52. The caller told officers that tonight the heifer jumped out in front of him and he almost stuck it. This was the second time that this had happened. The caller told officers who he thought the heifer belonged to. Officers talked with the male subject. He admitted that the animal had been loose for about two months. Officers advised him that he needed to figure out something to get the cow under control. The subject said that the animal technically was not his, but the owners would be coming to take it back in the near future.
