Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 1/11/21

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Wednesday, December 30th

Officers stopped a vehicle at Morse Street and 6th Avenue. Officers received consent to search. Two subjects were arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Both subjects were also cited for failure to fasten a seat belt and one of the subjects was also cited for nonregistration and operating after suspension.

Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and S. Dorr Street. Officers received consent to search. A subject was referred for possession of marijuana.

Thursday, December 31st

Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was referred for criminal operating after revocation and eight counts of bail jumping. They were also cited for failure to obey a traffic signal.

Friday, January 1st

Officers responded to a report of vehicle in the ditch at Western Avenue and 5th Avenue. A fire hydrant had been struck. The caller told officers that the driver said they were ok. Officers searched the vehicle. A field sobriety test was conducted. The Department of Public Works was notified about the fire hydrant. A subject was referred for bail jumping.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at Graham Avenue and Arctic Street. The caller told officers that a subject was seen coming out of a house that was being redone at this intersection. They left walking eastbound. Officers were out with the subject, when then ran off. Officers attempted to locate the subject. Officers went westbound on Graham Avenue. Another officer was out on foot near Fulton Street and 2nd Avenue. Another officer was at an address at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The subject was eventually taken into custody. A preliminary breath test came back with a reading of .231. The subject was taken to Langlade Hospital for medical clearance and then to Corrections.

Saturday, January 2nd

Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had a shoplifter in custody.

Sunday, January 3rd

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at an address on 7th Avenue. Two subjects had come stumbling out from behind a building into the parking lot. Officers were out with two subjects near the car wash. One subject tried running away from officers, but did not get very far. Both subjects were arrested on multiple charges. One of the subjects was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, felony bail jumping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Tuesday, January 5th

Officers responded to a report of a small vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Hwy. 45 on the north side of Antigo. The caller told officers that the vehicle swerved a few times and was now in the correct southbound lanes at Neva Road and Century Avenue at the stoplights. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

Officers responded to a call from a subject at an address on Superior Street reporting that someone tried to use a check, from one of their old bank accounts. They had received a letter from the bank stating that the check was used at a business in Antigo. The caller gave officers the name of a possible suspect.

Wednesday, January 6th

Officers responded to a call from a subject at an address on Superior Street reporting that a male subject was trying to get into the apartment and was told to leave. The caller told officers that the subject went up the back steps. The male subject was sent on his way by officers. He was referred for disorderly conduct, trespassing and obstructing.

 

 

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT

Tuesday, December 29th

Officers responded to a report of an accident at Cty. Rd. A and Hwy. 45. The female caller told officers that someone backed into her at the intersection. There was no visible damage to either vehicle.

Officers responded to a report of an accident at Hwy. 45 and Dorr Street. A trailer had come unattached from a vehicle, crossed traffic and was struck. There was debris in both lanes of traffic. The highway was shut down for a time. A witness reported that the southbound vehicle was swerving, came across the center line, and struck the other vehicle going northbound. A field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was not intoxicated. Both vehicles were towed.

Wednesday, December 30th

Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 47 and Cty. Rd. D. Property damage only. Both vehicles were towed.

Thursday, December 31st

A subject was taken into custody for bail jumping at an address on Cty. Rd. F.

Officers responded to a call from a subject reporting that a white Ford pickup on Cty. Rd. HH was swerving all over the place and had been in the ditch multiple times. The subject called back reporting that the vehicle was then in the ditch near the intersection of Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. HH. When officers arrived, the vehicle was gone. The vehicle was eventually located at Cty. Rd. N and Singer Road. The driver was taken into custody and the vehicle was towed.

Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting a burglary. The caller told officers that he had just gotten to the house and the door had been kicked in and that it appeared that items had been stolen.

Monday, January 4th

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Cty. Rd. B, north of Cty. Rd. C. The vehicle was towed out.

Officers responded to a report of a 4-wheeler in the ditch on Cty. Rd. Y, just west of Cty. Rd. HH. It may have possibly fallen off of a truck.

Tuesday, January 5th

Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he had spun out on Hwy. 64 and hit some mailboxes. He told the officers that everyone was ok, but he needed a wrecker.

Wednesday, January 6th

Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Hwy. 52. One vehicle had left the roadway. There was no entrapment and no injuries. The female driver of one vehicle told officers that she was traveling southbound on Hwy. 52 and observed the other vehicle on Schroeder Road approaching the stop sign, but she thought it was going to stop. The vehicle did not stop and crashed into the front driver’s side of her vehicle causing her to go off the road. The male driver of the other vehicle told officers that he had been traveling westbound on Schroeder Road, did not stop at the stop sign and struck the other vehicle. He was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
