Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 11/18/19

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Tuesday, November 5th

Officers received a call from the owner of a rental property on 3rd Avenue. He told officers that since the last time he was there, someone threw rocks at the windows, breaking three of them.

Officers responded to a call from a female reporting damage to her vehicle while it was parked at her business on Dorr Street. Officers talked with a male subject who told them that he had observed a rock fly over the roof from south to north. He then observed another rock fly over in the same direction, hitting the hood of the vehicle and leaving a dent. The male gave officers the address of a possible suspect. No one was home when officers arrived at the residence. They took photos of the damage.

Officers responded to a report of an accident at an area business on Neva Road. Property damage only.

Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at Antigo Middle School.

Wednesday, November 6th

Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. There were no injuries.

Officers responded to a call reporting that an older model burgundy mini-van was parked in front of an area business on Hwy. 64 with a younger male subject slumped over the wheel and the vehicle running. The caller told officers that they had really pounded on the window and he woke up, but he had now put his head down again. Officers gave the male subject a field sobriety test. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, restricted controlled substance related.

Thursday, November 7th

Officers stopped a vehicle on Century Avenue for a loud exhaust. Upon approach, officers detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and a firearm was present in the vehicle at arm’s reach. Officers searched the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia and an additional loaded firearm. Officers arrested the driver for possession of drug paraphernalia. They were also referred for a felon in possession of a firearm.

Officers responded to a call reporting that a female subject at an area business at Hwy. 45 and Hwy.64 was driving a vehicle with a license plate on the vehicle that was not registered to that vehicle and they believed that the female was on methamphetamine. Officers took the female subject into custody on a Department of Corrections warrant for felony possession of amphetamines.

Officers received a call from a male subject on 7th Avenue reporting that someone slashed the driver’s side front tire on his vehicle the night before. He gave officers the name of a possible suspect.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Century Avenue. A field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

Saturday, November 9th

Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his pickup truck was keyed while at an area business on Neva Road. He told officers that there were witnesses on the scene.

Officers responded to a report of an accident at Neva Road and Century Avenue.

Sunday, November 10th

Officers responded to a report from an area business on Jerome Street that they had video of a male subject with a shopping cart go through one of the register lines that was closed and he left in black Pontiac Bonneville.

Monday, November 11th

Officers received a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that someone stole some straw bales that they had in front of the business.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a dark gray van went off the road at 10th Avenue and Clermont Street. The caller also told officers that a large black truck was pulling it out of the creek side. When officers arrived, two newer pickups were on the scene, but the van was gone. One of the occupants of the trucks told officers that the male driver of the van appeared to have been intoxicated.

Officers received a call from a female on Clermont Street reporting that someone walked through her back door. She told officers that this person drove from Green Bay to come and look at her house believing it was for rent. The person found it listed on Zillow, and when they contacted a realtor, the realtor told them that they could come to Antigo, go to the back door and just walk in and look at the house, that the door would be open. The caller told officers that her house was not for rent and she had not authorized that advertisement. She said that she was so stunned by the event that she did not get the subject’s name, but she did say that the ad was still on Zillow. Officers left a message with the number on the website.

Tuesday, November 12th

Officers responded to a call from the Highway Department reporting that a vehicle struck their truck at Arctic Street and Neva Road. There were no injuries.

 

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT

Wednesday, November 6th

Officers responded to a call reporting that a white panel truck driving on Hwy. 45 in Elcho was swerving into the oncoming lane like he wanted to pass. Dispatch then received another call that was transferred to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. The driver was taken into custody.

Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that someone was there trying to send $7,500 in the mail. The caller told officers that it might be a scam.

Friday, November 8th

Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a shoplifting event. The caller told officers that the subject was no longer there, but there were two witnesses and they did have security footage of the event. The caller gave officers the name of the male suspect.

Saturday, November 9th

Officers received a call from a male reporting that at approximately 6:45am that morning he slid through a stop sign on Hwy. 47 at Hwy. 45 and collided with another vehicle. The caller told officers that he gave the female driver of the other vehicle all of his information, but he did not get her information or a vehicle description. Officers advised him to file a crash report online.

Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he had swerved to avoid a deer on Cty. Rd. M and struck a tree with his truck. The male subject was arrested for violation of absolute sobriety. He was transported to Langlade Hospital for a blood draw and a cut on his leg. The vehicle was towed and the Highway Department was notified regarding a tree in the road.

Officers responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover accident at Cty. Rd. V and Hwy. 45. The vehicle was towed.

Officers responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy. B, north of Knight Road. A second vehicle stopped to help. An additional vehicle than came over the hill and struck the other vehicle while some subjects were still in the vehicle. The Elcho Fire Department arrived on the scene. The vehicles were towed. The Highway Department was notified that Cty. Rd. B was glare ice from Knight Road to Bogus Road.

Monday, November 11th

Officers responded to a report that a white Cadillac was driving southbound in the northbound lane of Hwy. 45 near Cherry Road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

Tuesday, November 12th

Officers responded to a report of an accident on Gowan Road. There were no injuries.
