Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 11/6/17

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, October 23rd

1:22 PM Officers found a baggie with loose tobacco, a few home rolled cigarettes and some pills in Saratoga Park on Saratoga Street. The pills were identified as 2 Acetaminophen (500mg), 1 Ibuprofen and 2 Aspirin. They were destroyed.

3:03 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint that two male subjects had pulled their vehicle into the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 and were driving recklessly and squealed their tires. The caller also told officers that they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. It was described as a maroon Ford Taurus. The vehicle then left eastbound on Hwy. 64. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

3:35 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a male juvenile subject had been throwing chunks of asphalt at their building. The boy had been told to stop it last week, but had just done it again. The male subject and another boy were heading northbound on Superior Street. Officers were advised.

5:19 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had a counterfeit bill. They told officers that a male and female subject had passed the bill. It said “For Motion Picture Use Only” on the bill.

Tuesday, October 24th

8:56 AM Officers arrested a 17 year old female student at Antigo High School for disorderly conduct. She had attempted to start a fight with another female student.

7:21 AM Officers were out with some subjects at an area business on Superior Street. Officers arrested 1 male subject and two female subjects on Oconto County Sheriff’s office warrants. The subjects consented to a search of their vehicle. Some IV drugs were seized and logged into evidence.

Wednesday, October 25th

1:56 PM Officers responded to an accident in front of an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only.

3:38 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a male shoplifter. The male subject from Antigo was cited for retail theft. He did pay for the items after officers left.

6:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a silver Chevy Impala just struck her car which was parked in front of her residence on Lincoln Street. The vehicle had took off going south on Lincoln Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. The silver, 4 door Chevy Impala should have some minor front end damage.

9:14 PM Officers were out with a male subject that was kneeling on the ground at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. He was given a ride back to his residence.

Thursday, October 26th

10:05 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he hit a vehicle as he was pulling out of the parking lot of an area business on Edison Street.

4:43 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident on 5th Avenue. The male driver of one of the vehicles was cited for having no insurance.

10:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she hit a light pole in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. There were no injuries. A state crash report was completed.

Friday, October 27th

1:24 PM Officers cited a student at Antigo High School for possession of tobacco.

6:20 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was just involved in a two vehicle accident at Charlotte Court and Steinfest Road. Property damage only. The vehicles were towed. A state report was completed.

7:02 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a male shoplifter. The caller told officers that when confronted, the male subject gave the items back and took off running. He got into a silver Oldsmobile. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. The male suspect was described as bald, with glasses and wearing a brown jacket. Officers arrested the male subject for retail theft and a probation hold.

Saturday, October 28th

7:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Field Street reporting that she found a nail in an apple from a bag of candy that her children received while trick or treating. Officers were investigating.

Sunday, October 29th

2:40 AM Officers were out with a male subject at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The male subject was cited for public urination.

8:41 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street reporting an attempted break in that occurred the night before, after closing time. The lock at the back door was damaged. No entry had been gained. A piece of the lock had fallen out. The business owner was going to check the security cameras.

9:17 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a resident on 5th Avenue had a bunch of garbage and junk around and now there was also a dead skunk there. Officers made contact with the female resident. She told officers that most of the garbage was there when she moved in. She told officers that she would remove some of the garbage. The Street Department was advised to take care of the skunk that was in the roadway. The owner of the residence was also notified.

10:52 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle crash in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. There were no injuries.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Thursday, October 26th

9:44 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a burglary at a her residence on Elst Road. Officers were investigating.

10:54 AM While officers were checking local cabins and residences following up on a burglary on Elst Road, a forced entry was discovered an another residence on Elst Road.

11:03 AM While officers were checking local cabins and residences following up on a burglary on Elst Road, a forced entry was discovered at a third residence on Elst Road.

11:35 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was just rear-ended in a construction zone at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. G. There was only very minor damage.

12:45 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a break in at his property on Fish Hatchery Road. The caller told officers that some workers that were there advised him that someone took an ax or something else to a door. Two garage doors were broken in. A Stihl chainsaw and a Mr. Heater were stolen. The owner was going to let officers know if anything else was missing.

Friday, October 27th

8:07 AM Officers received a call from a male on Cty. Rd. F reporting that someone cut the lock off from his vegetable stand and took some money, probably $30 to $40.

1:19 PM Officers responded to a report of a pickup truck on fire near the driveway of a residence on Cty. Rd. HH. No buildings were in danger. The fire department was paged. The fire was actually on the Marathon County side of Hwy. HH. The Marathon County Sheriff’s office was advised.

4:50 PM Officers responded to information received from the Shawano County Sheriff’s office about a reckless driver, driving northbound from Birnamwood on Hwy. 45. Officers were given the license plate number. The vehicle had been all over the road, crossing the centerline several times. The vehicle was stopped at Neva Road and North Avenue. The male driver from Oshkosh was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. Some guns that were in the vehicle were checked into evidence for safekeeping.

7:19 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a two vehicle personal injury accident on Hwy. 64 east of Cty. Rd. S. Medical release forms were signed by all three subjects involved. The male driver of one of the vehicles was cited for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense and operating left of center.

9:59 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of 8 to 10 cars going back into the county land at the dead end of E. Loon Lake Lane. Officers made contact with the partygoers, after a few took off into the woods. The majority of those that had left returned when asked to come out. The alcohol was disposed of and each underage individual was given a breathalyzer test. All vehicles were searched and any alcohol was disposed of. No citations were issued. All the subjects were advised that they needed to clean up the area. The parents of the subjects were contacted by officers.

Saturday, October 28th

8:25 AM Officers received a call from a male on N. Shore Road reporting that someone went through his yard the night before and hit a reflector pole and tore up his yard. There were no suspects.

2:14 PM A male came to the Safety Building to report the theft of a gun from his father’s residence on Koszarek Road. The gun was a .38 Special, black, semi-automatic.

Tuesday, October 31st

4:39 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she ran off the road on Cty. Rd. Q, near Hwy. 17. She told officers that she had no injuries and she had already called a tow truck. The vehicle had hit a pole. WPS was notified.

5:46 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a one vehicle accident on Hwy. 64. The vehicle was on its side. The female driver said that she was not injured. The vehicle was towed.

6:39 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 45, north of Cty. Rd. D. The vehicle was towed.
