Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 3/5/18

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, February 19th

7:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and Mendlik Avenue. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle. Officers located marijuana shake in the glove box. They also located alcohol prep pads throughout the vehicle and a syringe behind the passenger seat that did not test out. The subjects were released.

Tuesday, February 20th

6:44 AM Officers referred a male student for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred at Antigo High School on 2/15/18.

Wednesday, February 21st

7:39 PM Officers were following up on some information at an apartment at Charlotte Court that a female subject was housing wanted people and using the apartment as a flop house. The female consented to a search of the apartment and illegal substances were located. The female subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an illegally obtained prescription. She was transported to Corrections.

Thursday, February 22nd

11:08 AM The manager of an area business on Hwy. 64 requested to speak with an officer regarding an employee theft. Officers were told that a male subject took $5,660 in cash from several down payments of transactions, while working at the business. On 2/24/18 officers spoke with the male subject who told officers that he had paid the business back all of the money. Officers then spoke with another male who confirmed that the money had been paid back and no other action was needed.

1:26 PM Officers received a call from a male requesting to speak to an officer regarding a message that he received on his phone in which someone said that he had a warrant. The male caller told officers that he had received two voicemail messages from an automated machine stating that he would have a warrant if he did not call them back. The male had not called the number back. Officers advised him to ignore the calls as they were scam attempts.

5:38 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. The male driver was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to pay a fine for fishing without a license. He was transported to Corrections.

11:37 PM Officers responded to a medical call at a residence on Spruce Street for a 19 year old male subject who was experiencing pain and was shaking. The caller stated that the male subject thought he was bleeding from the inside. Upon officer’s arrival, the house was filled with smoke and the odor of marijuana. It turned out that the male subject was too high. He was arrested on two Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants and misdemeanor bail jumping. He was on bond and was not to possess or use controlled substances illegally.

Friday, February 23rd

12:49 AM While at Langlade Hospital on another call, officers saw a female subject with outstanding warrants. The female was arrested on two Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants and a Department of Corrections warrant.

12:00 PM Officers referred a male student for disorderly conduct at Antigo Middle School.

3:53 PM Officers cited a female student for possession of tobacco at Antigo High School.

3:58 PM Officers cited a female student for possession of a knife at Antigo High School.

3:59 PM Officers cited a female student for possession of a knife at Antigo High School.

7:29 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy 64 reporting a male shoplifter. The male subject was referred for retail theft and felony bail jumping.

Sunday, February 25th

4:04 AM Officers were out with a vehicle behind an area business on 5th Avenue. The male driver was arrested for felony possession of marijuana. He was transported to Corrections

3:15 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a female shoplifter. The female subject was cited for retail theft.

5:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his silver Impala was struck by another vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on 5th Avenue. No one saw the striking vehicle. They only noticed the damage to the car.

7:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a possible intoxicated driver heading east on Hwy. 64 driving a large gray Dodge truck. The caller stated that the truck had been stopped at a stop sign on Prosser Place for a while. When the truck didn’t move, the caller’s girlfriend beeped the horn for the truck to go. The truck still didn’t move, so the caller went up to the truck and asked the male driver to come and apologize to his pregnant girlfriend. At that point, the male driver got out and said, “Get out of my face or I’ll punch you in the face.” The caller told officers that the male subject smelled like booze. He then left in the truck, headed west on Hwy. 64. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Wednesday, February 21st

7:32 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her vehicle was hung up on a snowbank on Lamplight Lane. The driver told officers that she was in the area to purchase puppies at an address on Cty. Rd. G in Marathon county and her GPS led her down Stoney Road and then onto a snowmobile trail where she got stuck.

Thursday, February 22nd

2:26 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive off that had occurred between 1:00 and 1:30 PM. Officers located the vehicle traveling northbound on Hwy. 45. The vehicle was stopped and the male driver was cited for operating without a license and retail theft.

Friday, February 23rd

3:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. B. The male driver was referred for possession of marijuana.

3:10 PM A male subject living on Cty. Rd. S came to the Safety Building to report criminal damage to his security alarm. He told officers that he had a driveway sensor that had been shot out with a pellet gun. This was the second time that this had happened. The male did not know who had done it. The information was put on file.

Sunday, February 25th

2:27 AM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a one vehicle crash at Cty. Rd. G and Koszarek Road. The vehicle was towed out. The female driver of the vehicle was transported to the Safety Building for a standardized field sobriety test and then was driven home.

6:19 AM Officers responded to a call from the Highway Department reporting a vehicle in the ditch at Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. H. Officers talked with a female subject who said that they would make arrangements to remove the vehicle.

8:51 AM Officers responded to a call from the Langlade County Highway Department reporting an abandoned vehicle in the lane of travel on Flak Road, south of Hwy. 64. The vehicle was towed.

9:24 AM Officers responded to several calls reporting a one vehicle rollover on Hwy. 45, south of Cty. Rd. B. The female driver was out of the vehicle with no apparent major injuries. She was just shaken up.

10:26 AM Officers responded to a report of a truck and trailer in the ditch on Hwy. 45 on the south edge of Antigo. The people were out of the vehicle. The male driver told officers that the tongue on the trailer had broken and he went into the ditch. The vehicle was towed out.

12:29 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was just involved in a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 45 and Huggins Road. Both vehicles were towed.

5:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he spun out on Cty. Rd. HH, south of Cty. Rd. G and was in the east ditch. Officers actually found the vehicle in the west ditch. The vehicle was towed out. There was damage to the rear quarter panel/bumper area and left front.

8:40 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a Jeep in the ditch on Old 26 Road, just south of Cty. Rd. G. The male driver had been asked if he had any injuries. He said that he was ok, but the caller told officers that the male subject seemed intoxicated. When officers arrived, no driver was present. The vehicle was towed and held. Officers later spoke with the male driver and the vehicle was released.

9:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the ditch on the corner of Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 52. The vehicle had struck a mailbox. The male driver was out of the vehicle.

10:45 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Enterprise Lake Road reporting that she heard her front door rattling about 20 minutes earlier. She then got a text from her neighbor across the street stating that there was a person outside her house. No one was located. The female also told officers that about three weeks earlier, while she was sleeping, she believed that someone came into her house, took her car keys and used her car until it was almost out of gas, then returned the car and put the keys on the table. The female requested an extra patrol.

Monday, February 26th

5:04 AM Officers responded to a call from an area towing company reporting that they were enroute to tow a vehicle on Cty. Rd. H, near Cty. Rd. N. The vehicle was removed. There was no damage. The tire tread was low on the tires. Officers advised the driver to get better tires.

5:52 AM Officers responded to a report of a rollover accident on Hwy. 45, just north of Antigo. The vehicle had rolled over three or four times. EMS was sent to check on the male driver. The Fire Department was also paged. A crash report was completed.

8:55 AM Officers were out with a vehicle in the ditch at Hwy. 64 and Meadow Road. The vehicle was towed out.

10:39 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle rollover at Cty. Rd. F and Meadow Road. The female driver was ok and denied medical attention. There was damage to both side and front of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed.
