Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 4/10/17

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, March 27th

1:21 PM Officers cited a female student at Antigo Middle School for the theft of another student’s bracelet on 3/23/17. The female student has had two other incidents involving theft at the Antigo Middle School this year.

1:35 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The female driver was cited for an expired registration. An educational pamphlet was distributed.

1:40 PM Officers cited a male student at Antigo High School for disorderly conduct for incidents that occurred on 3/22/17 and 3/23/17 at the school.

1:43 PM Officers cited a female student for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred at Antigo High School on 3/10/17.

1:55 PM Officers received a call from an area trucking company reporting a missing trailer. The caller described the trailer as a white enclosed semi-trailer with a roll up door. It was taken from behind an area business on Neva Road, sometime between March 17th and March 20th.

3:47 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a female shoplifter that was being held and who was being uncooperative. Officers arrested the female subject for retail theft.

Tuesday, March 28th

2:20 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a male subject stole a drill. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle he was driving. The vehicle was described as a bluish gray Ford Taurus. The male subject was described as having dark hair, 5’10” to 6 feet tall, wearing a black leather jacket. Officers ran the plate number given, but a match did not come back.

2:21 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a small jewel bag was found in the women’s restroom that contained a small white rock substance. Officers picked up the substance and had it tested. 0.48g of MDMA (Ecstasy) was logged into evidence.

6:03 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Nantasket Street who reported finding needles inside a jacket in a shed. An old, brown leather jacket was on the floor of a shed where bicycles were kept. Five empty needles were in the jacket, along with an appointment card for an area business on 5th Avenue. Officers were going to check with the area business to try and identify the owner of the jacket.

Wednesday, March 29th

12:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and was given a written warning for false display of a registration decal.

6:08 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The driver of a large panel truck struck a parked car. Property damage only. A state report was completed.

6:21 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on S. Superior Street. The female driver was cited for speed.

12:02 PM Officers responded to report from an area business on Neva Road reporting that a male subject switched a new pair of boots (worth $76.00) for his used ones, putting the used shoes in the shoe box and back on the shelf. The male subject from Wausau was cited for retail theft and released.

2:43 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that one of their employees was just a victim of a hit and run. The caller told officers that the employee was westbound on Hwy. 64. An older female subject in an older tan Chevy S-10 then tried to switch lanes and side-swiped the vehicle that the employee was driving. The female driver of the truck then took off through the stop and go lights. There was minor damage to the vehicle.

2:49 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for an incident at Antigo High School.

2:50 PM Officers cited a female student for disorderly conduct for an incident at Antigo High School.

2:51 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for aggressively doing a 5-Star on another student at Antigo High School, leaving a bruised handprint on the other student’s back on 3/23/17.

4:15 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting an RV in their parking lot that had the hood up with people by it asking for money. Officers talked to the subject from Arizona and advised them to move along.

4:29 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting a female shoplifter. An ambulance was later paged for a seizure. The validity of the seizure was questionable, as it occurred shortly after the female subject was told that she was going to jail. She was taken to Langlade Hospital by ambulance. The female subject was referred to the district attorney for theft.

Thursday, March 30

6:03 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Langlade Hospital. A male driver from Wausau backed into a parked car while backing up to the loading dock. Property damage only. A state report was completed.

7:11 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Mendlik Avenue and Clermont Street. The drive was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

7:39 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Hudson Street. The male driver was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

3:55 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in a driveway on Sunset Drive. Vehicle 1 was backing out of the garage. Vehicle 2 pulled into the driveway. Vehicle 1 backed into Vehicle 2. A voluntary report was completed.

4:08 PM Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver on Superior Street, northbound from 5th Avenue that was weaving in and out of traffic and was flipping off other vehicles. The vehicle was described as a maroon Bonneville. Officers received the license plate number. Officers stopped at the residence of the registered owner on Fulton Street. The female subject was warned about her driving habits.

7:02 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Road. The female driver was cited for operating after suspension.

Saturday, April 1st

1:10 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting that a male subject, in his mid-50’s, wearing a light yellow or cream puffy jacket had items in his pockets that they believed he was going to try and take out of the store without paying for. Officers cited the male subject for retail theft and released him.

8:27 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that a large group of males were gathering in the park at Field Street and 6th Avenue. Officers cited 3 juvenile male subjects for underage drinking. A juvenile female subject was cited for possession of tobacco.

Sunday, April 2nd

12:48 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on 4th Avenue. The female driver was cited for no insurance and was given a 10 day correction notice for expired registration.

1:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Virginia Street. The male driver was cited for speed.

7:25 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Smith Avenue and Nantasket Street. The female driver was cited for not wearing a seatbelt.

11:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Edison Street. The female driver was given a warning for a defective headlamp and was cited for no proof of insurance.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Wednesday, March 29th

5:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a red Chevy Impala that was going into the other lane and onto the gravel. The vehicle was northbound on Hwy. 45. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers stopped the vehicle at 8th Avenue and Hudson Street. The driver was not intoxicated. They were warned for being left of center.

Thursday, March 30th

5:39 PM Officers responded to a call from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office who had received a call from a male reporting a vehicle that all over the road on Hwy. 52 going eastbound from Wausau that was almost to Hwy. 45. The vehicle was described as a gold Chrysler van. Officers were given the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers talked with the registered male owner of the vehicle about his driving habits.

7:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a vehicle was driving about 45 MPH going south on Hwy. 45 leaving Antigo and it was crossing the centerline and swerving all over the road. The vehicle then turned east on Hwy. 47. Officers sent a teletype to the Shawano County Sheriff’s office and the Menominee County Sheriff’s office about the vehicle.

Friday, March 31st

9:32 AM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting identity theft. She told officers that someone hacked into her Yahoo account and opened a Dish Network account in Elmhurst, Illinois. Officers contacted the identity theft team at Dish Network and notified them. Officers filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission.

7:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was following a silver Malibu that was traveling about 35 MPH and was all over the road. The caller gave officers the license plate number. The vehicle then turned southbound onto Polar-Evergreen Road. Officers stopped the vehicle. The female driver admitted to officers that she had taken prescribed Vicodin and Clonazepam a few hours prior and then took another dose just prior to the officers arrival. Initially, the female subject denied crossing the centerline or going onto the shoulder, but she later admitted it. Two children were also in the vehicle. Officers gave the female subject a stern warning about driving while on medication, especially with children in the vehicle. She was cited for left of center, reckless driving, impeding traffic and deviation of designated lane.

8:43 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Rosedale Road reporting that a male subject, described as short and fat, was banging on her front doors and windows telling her not to call anyone. Officers arrested the male subject on a Shawano County Sheriff’s office warrant and a Department of Corrections warrant. He was also cited for possession of meth drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, April 1st

9:00 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at N. Langlade Road and North Avenue. The male driver was cited for operating without a license, 1st offense, operating left of center and having no proof of insurance. With the help of Google translate and the male subject’s roommate, the male subject was sternly warned not to reach for knives when stopped by an officer.

Sunday, April 2nd

2:28 AM Officers responded to a 911 open line call. It sounded like a moving vehicle with a male and female subject talking. The female subject said that she needed Vicodin and she was talking about taking six Adderall. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 64 and Airport Road. The female subject was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. The male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

8:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. A female subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of meth paraphernalia, bail jumping and possession of a controlled substance.
