Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 4/9/18

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Tuesday, March 27th

10:10 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that it appeared that someone struck a pole on S. Clermont Street, just north of Forrest Avenue on the east side. Officers also received a call from a female at an area business on S. Superior Street who told officers that they had a message on their business phone about the pole on S. Clermont Street being struck at 5:00 PM the night before. No name was left on the message and there was no caller I.D. It appeared to officers that a truck had lost control and went up on the curb, into a pine tree and then hit the pole. No vehicle parts were left at the scene, but officers thought that the striking vehicle would have a significant amount of front end damage. Photos were taken. Frontier was contacted to fix the pole.

11:40 AM Officers were contacted by an area business on Wausau Road reporting that one of their semi-trucks had struck a telephone pole, causing damage to the pole. The phone company was contacted. A state report was completed.

5:07 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a residence on Mary Street reporting that a 28 year old male subject took an overdose of eight Ambien pills. The caller did know how long ago the male had taken them. He was still conscious. The male subject was taken to Langlade Hospital.

Wednesday, March 28th

9:38 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A child had also been in the vehicle.

Thursday, March 29th

6:50 AM Officers responded to a call from a female at an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that she believed that their delivery driver had struck a pole and took down a line. She also told officers that there was glass by the pole and the truck was no longer there.

Friday, March 30th

1:09 AM Officers responded to a call from female on S. Superior Street reporting that loud noises were coming from another apartment in the same complex. A male subject was arrested for bail jumping, drug related charges and was cited for underage alcohol, 3rd offense. Two other male subjects were also arrested on drug related charges and were cited for underage alcohol, 1st offense.

5:46 PM Officers responded to a call from the owner of an area business on Superior Street reporting that he had noticed that someone had been entering a locked RV in his lot and sleeping in it. He told officers that he had found garbage and bedding in it. Officers found mail in the camper with the name of a male subject on it. Officers were able to determine that the male subject was currently in jail, in Crawford County Arkansas.

Saturday, March 31st

1:30 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that a brown SUV just left southbound on Neva Road without paying for $31 worth of gas. The caller gave officers a partial license plate number. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Officers went to the business to view video footage. The subject was a female in a white coat. An employee at the business told officers that the female subject may have tried to pay with a credit card that didn’t work.

Sunday, April 1st

5:22 PM Officers responded to a call from a male at an area establishment on Deleglise Street reporting that he just witnessed a drug deal in the parking lot. One of the vehicles was described as a black Mitsubishi Eclipse with a silver hood, red wheels and spoiler. The caller told officers that a passenger from the Eclipse got out and then got into the back seat of a black Chevy Cruze with a male passenger for about 30 seconds and then the subject got back into the Eclipse. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers were unable to locate the vehicles.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Wednesday, March 28th

7:48 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident at Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. P. Property damage only.

Thursday, March 29th

1:18 PM Officers were at a residence on Dorr Street. Officers arrested a male subject for possession of a firearm (subject was convicted felon), possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping.

6:50 PM Officers responded to a call from the Antigo Fire Department reporting an accident that occurred with an ambulance on the way back from Wausau on Hwy. 64. The ambulance struck a bald eagle. The Raptor Education Group was contacted. There was damage to the windshield of the ambulance on the left, bottom corner. A state report was filed.

Friday, March 30th

1:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Circle Drive reporting that he just got to his cabin and discovered that it had been broken into. He was missing some electronics and kitchen items. A possible female suspect was named. Officers were investigating.

1:48 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting that his wife hit a mailbox and put her Chevy Blazer in the ditch on Cty. Rd. HH. The vehicle was towed.

7:32 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Orchard Road reporting a possible break-in at their home. The caller told officers that she had noticed that day that the back door of their residence did not unlock the way it normally did. The caller’s husband then noticed that his gun cabinet, in the basement, had all the drawers opened. The gun cabinet doors had been forced open, causing damage to the doors and the metal lock tabs. The owners did not believe that anything was missing. Photos were taken. There were no known suspects.

Saturday, March 31st

5:57 AM Officers responded to a call from a subject reporting that they went into the ditch on Hwy. 47, just west of S. Rollwood Road.  The caller was complaining of back pain. The vehicle was removed by a tow truck.

8:47 AM Officers responded to a report of a green Dodge Dakota in the ditch on Hwy. 45, south of Hwy. 47 on the west side of road. The male driver then called dispatch. He told officers that he was not injured. A highway sign was knocked down. The vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.

11:00 AM Officers responded to a 911 call that was forwarded from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reporting a vehicle versus pole accident on Hwy. 64, about one mile into Langlade County. Power lines were down. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s office had already contacted Wisconsin Public Service. The vehicle was towed.

Tuesday, April 3rd

4:45 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he rolled his vehicle on Hwy. 45, south of Cty. Rd. D. A state report was filed.

8:27 AM Officers responded to a call from a local towing company reporting that they had been called for a vehicle with damage in the ditch at Meadow Road and Cty. Rd. F. A state report was completed.

10:15 AM Officers responded to a call from the Highway Department reporting that they came upon a vehicle in the ditch at Hwy. 52 and Langlade-Price Road. The driver was requesting a wrecker. A state report was completed.

9:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that another vehicle pulled out in front of him on Cty. Rd. F, west of Cty. Rd. AA. The male driver of the other vehicle was cited for failure to yield.

Wednesday, April 4th

Officers responded to a call from the Highway Department reporting that they observed a new black Ford truck slide off the road, break a sign and then it left. They gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle.
