ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, April 24th
10:53 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting the theft of a utility trailer from behind an area business on 5th Avenue. The caller told officers that it occurred either the night before, or early that morning. The trailer was black in color with a ramp. It had been secured to a cement post. There were no suspects.
11:58 AM Officers received a call from a female on 2nd Avenue reporting the loss of her chainsaw in the beginning of March. The caller was unsure of the make or model of the chainsaw. She told officers that it was possibly orange in color. It was valued at around $300.
2:43 PM Officers responded to a report of an elderly female driver running into a couple of vehicles on Jerome Street. An accident report was completed and the female driver was written for re-exam.
8:06 PM Officers responded to a report of retail theft at an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers were referring a male subject for retail theft, 2nd offense, two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and felony bail jumping. Officers cited a female subject for retail theft.
Tuesday, April 25th
12:23 AM Officers responded to a report of a male subject who had been out celebrating his 21st birthday that was passed out on the sidewalk on 5th Avenue. Officers were unable to wake the subject and he was lying in his own vomit. The Antigo Fire Department was called. The male subject was transported to Langlade Hospital.
1:15 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 6th Avenue reporting that she thought someone was in her backyard, perhaps by the back windows. Dogs were barking. Officers checked around the house. There was no one there, but there was damage to a screen on a window. The female named a possible suspect, but there was no proof. Officers photographed the screen and told the residents to make sure that their windows and doors are locked at night and when they are not at home.
5:31 AM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The male driver was cited for speed.
2:32 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for failure to wear and seatbelt and was given a warning for speed.
4:52 PM Officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident in the drive thru of an area business on Neva Road. The striking vehicle was described as a gray Nissan Xterra LL. The caller gave officers the license plate number. The vehicle left the scene going in an unknown direction with two female occupants.
Wednesday, April 26th
7:11 AM Officers responded to several reports of a vehicle versus bus accident at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. There were passengers on the bus. There were no injuries. A female driver was cited for no insurance. A state report was filed.
12:28 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a female shoplifter. The business had the name of the female subject because she had bought a prescription. The caller told officers that the female subject had paid for her prescription, but she then put several items into a bag and attempted to walk out of the store without paying for the items. When confronted, she dumped the unpaid items and took off. Officers cited the female subject with retail theft.
1:44 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct at Antigo High School. There was an issue during class and the subject had also been disrespectful to the teacher.
1:51 PM Officers cited a female student for disorderly conduct at Antigo High School.
3:06 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that while she was in an area business on 5th Avenue, a male subject in a green hoodie got inside her vehicle that was in the parking lot and stole some items. Some cookies, lighters and $60 in cash were taken. The male subject was described as 6 feet tall, wearing black rimmed glasses, white, in his 20’s, wearing a green hoodie with white lettering on it and he may have left the scene on a bike. Officers were investigating.
4:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 1st Avenue reporting that his neighbor dumped around 200 dead fish on his property. Officers spoke with the male neighbor who told officers that he was going to take care of the problem. Officers also advised the DNR warden about the complaint. The male subject may be cited for having no fishing license.
5:34 PM Officers responded to a call from Antigo High School requesting an officer for a reported theft. They also requested that the student suspect be searched for the item. The male student was referred for theft.
6:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone hit his vehicle while it was parked the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. Officers were looking at the business surveillance and investigating.
7:33 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report that a female subject was driving without a license and she was currently at a business on Clermont Street. 7:48 PM Officers stopped the female subject in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The female subject was having a seizure and EMS was paged. The female subject was transported to Langlade Hospital. She was referred for operating after revocation, misdemeanor bail jumping and felony bail jumping.
Thursday, April 27th
1:47 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Western Road. The driver was arrested for failure to install an ignition interlock device and was cited for a defective brake light.
5:26 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Amron Avenue. The driver was cited for speed and no proof of insurance. A traffic education pamphlet was given.
5:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating after suspension.
Friday, April 28th
1:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for a defective tail lamp and was given a 10 day warning for an expired license.
2:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was cited for an illegal U-turn.
11:39 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that while he was out for a walk that morning, he found a glass marijuana pipe in the ditch, just south of the Antigo High School at 10th Avenue and Western Road. The pipe was collected for destruction.
Saturday, April 29th
12:20 AM Officers were out at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Superior Street with a stoplight that was struck by a vehicle and knocked over at the base. The Department of Public Works was contacted to repair the pole. The striking vehicle was identified as a Honda that should have had front end damage. The vehicle and driver were later found at an area business on Superior Street, where the male driver was slumped over the wheel of the vehicle. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated. He was also cited for hit and run, failure to maintain control and failure to notify officials about the accident. A state report was completed.
1:50 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for a defective head lamp.
4:10 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a shoplifter that took at least one bottle of alcohol, maybe more and left in a four door, blue Mercury Marquis. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers were investigating.
7:46 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that her vehicle was hit by a truck while parked at an area business on Superior Street. The female subject was told by someone that her vehicle was struck by a charcoal gray pickup with a lift tailgate on the back with roll bars. There was possible video footage from the business. Officers were investigating.
10:34 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was given a written warning for no proof of insurance and was cited for an illegal U-turn.
Sunday, April 30th
1:10 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that his vehicle had been parked behind an area business on 5th Avenue and he believed that someone had stolen it. Officers located the vehicle at another area business on Morse Street. The male caller and his companion were intoxicated and simply forgot where the vehicle was parked. They found other arrangements to get home.
8:51 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting some shoplifters. Witnesses saw the subjects running out the store with a cart, loading the items in a vehicle and leaving. The vehicle was described as a red Blazer. The caller gave officers the license plate number. The driver was described as an African-American male, with a heavy set female and a child in the vehicle. It was last seen westbound on Hwy. 64. Officers sent teletypes to the Lincoln, Shawano and Menominee County Sheriff’s offices about the subjects.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, April 26th
3:45 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report fraudulent charges on his credit card. He told officers that on March 5th he was a victim of credit card fraud while traveling in Florida. The suspect had since opened up other accounts in his name. The male subject was currently working with the credit card company to resolve the issues and he needed to make a police report.
8:39 PM Officers received a call from a male subject calling to report that he hit a bobcat on Cty. Rd. K, ½ mile east of Cty. Rd. Z. He told officers that he took the bobcat home. His vehicle was damaged, but drivable. The DNR warden was contacted by officers. He stated that the male subject would have to pay for the bobcat. He would notify him.
Thursday, April 27th
3:10 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he swerved to avoid four deer and hit some county road signs at Cty. Rd. Y and Beattie Road. He told officers that the incident occurred around 11:00 AM on his way to Wausau.
Friday, April 28th
4:49 PM Officers received an anonymous call reporting that a dark, blue Dodge Caravan was all over the road northbound on Cty. Rd. A, just past Cty. Rd. S. The caller gave officers the vehicle’s license plate number. Officers were advised.
11:52 PM Officers observed two vehicles in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. One appeared to be a white Mitsubishi Lancer and the other was a grayish car. They were revving their engines for a while and then officers saw one of the vehicles pull out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed going eastbound on Hwy. 64. Officers started pursuit and attempted to catch up, but the vehicle was going between 120 and 150 MPH. During the pursuit, the vehicle shut off its taillights, but still had its headlights on. The pursuit was discontinued. Officers were not able to get close enough to get a good description of the vehicle.
Saturday, April 29th
8:27 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident at Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. A involving a truck pulling a trailer and a car that was in the ditch. Property damage only. The male driver of the car was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Sunday, April 30th
1:19 AM Officers were out with a Chevy Monte Carlo at Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. A. Two subjects fled after being questioned, going north on Hwy. 55, then east on Pickerel Lake Road, then continuing east onto Pine Point until crashing into the lake at the end of Pine Point. The occupants of the vehicle then took off on foot. The male passenger was arrested for obstructing. The male driver fled on foot after the accident. Officers were unable to locate the male subject after an extensive search. He was referred for charges. Drug paraphernalia and drugs were located in the vehicle. The male driver also had felony warrants.
1:31 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she crashed her Buick LeSabre in the ditch on Hwy. 64. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed. The female driver was cited for no proof of insurance.
5:52 AM Officers and multiple departments responded to a barn fire on Cty. Rd. F. The barn was fully engulfed.
Monday, May 1st
10:14 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting he struck a bear on Cty. Rd. K, approximately one mile east of Hwy. 45. He told the officers that he struck the bear hard, but he was unsure of its location. A crash report was completed.
Wednesday, May 3rd
10:16 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a silver Hyundai vehicle went through a stop sign and almost caused an accident. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. The female driver of the vehicle was written for re-exam.
