ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 6th
8:50 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
6:57 PM Officers responded to a two car accident at an area business on Hwy. 64. A vehicle backed into another vehicle. Property damage only. A state accident report was filed.
11:26 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a motion alarm was going off. Officers spoke with the assistant manager, who accidently set off the alarm. Everything was fine.
Tuesday, June 7th
2:02 AM Officers responded to a call from a male outside an area business on Edison Street reporting that two female subjects were circling his truck, wanting to fight him. When officers arrived, one of the female subjects had already left. Nothing physical happened. The confrontation had started inside the building. The male caller noticed that his right rear tire was low. The valve cover was found lying on the ground. He was given a ride home.
9:57 AM Officers responded to a call from a female about a suspicious man with ripped jeans and a tan hoody over his head. He appeared to be hiding by the side of a garage located across from her house on 9th Avenue. She gave officers a description of the house. He had been there for over 5 minutes. When officers arrived the male subject ran into a house on Dorr Street and would not answer. The resident of the house let officers in. No one was found. Langlade County and the Department of Corrections have warrants for the male subject
5:01 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Clermont Street. They arrested the passenger on a Department of Corrections warrant and two Langlade County warrants.
Wednesday, June 8th
11:59 AM Officers responded to an accident on the corner of Artic Street and Kaplanek Avenue. Property damage only. One vehicle backed out of a driveway and struck the other vehicle on the driver’s door.
1:41 PM Officers responded to a report of a male subject walking around the 1st Avenue area, going door to door. He was not saying anything, but he was just “creepy.” Officers identified the male subject and sent him on his way.
6:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Lincoln Street. The driver was cited for speed.
Thursday, June 9th
1:24 PM Officers picked up a syringe found on 1st Avenue in the grass between Western Road and Thomas Street. They also found one on the roadway in that area. They were collected and disposed of.
2:39 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she found a syringe in her front yard on 1st Avenue. Officers picked it up and disposed of it.
3:01 PM Officers received a report from the City Park Department of vandalism to the warming house at Castle Park.
5:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that two dog statues were stolen from her yard on Fulton Street. She had video of the person taking them. The video showed that the theft occurred at 2:14 PM. Photos of the subject in the video were posted on Facebook. Officers received an anonymous call with a possible suspect. The dogs were valued at $60.
6:17 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that someone stole a ceramic goose from her front porch on Hudson Street. It was white with a yellow beak and weighed about 100 pounds. It was stolen sometime that day. Officers were advised.
Friday, June 10th
12:18 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that that he just witnessed a truck take down a traffic light at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The truck then went southbound. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
1:03 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and 5th Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for operating without a license.
8:09 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Badger Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
9:51 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from two younger females on 5th Avenue reporting that they were being followed by an older male subject that asked them if they wanted to do drugs. When the females told the male subject that they were going to call the police, he walked into an apartment building for a short time. He then came back out and started to follow them on a bicycle. Officers thought they may know who the subject was. Officers talked with this male, but he denied doing it.
Saturday, June 11th
3:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Street. The female driver was given a written warning for expired registration.
4:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was just in an accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. A female driver in another vehicle backed into his vehicle. There were no injuries. Property damage only.
Sunday, June 12th
12:13 AM Officers were out with a group of kids in the 700 block of Lincoln Street. They had tied a sheet up across the road, blocking of the street. Officers gave a warning to the subjects.
1:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense and was given a written warning for an improper right turn.
3:53 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. X. The driver was referred for operating after revocation (operating while intoxicated related.)
4:02 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, June 8th
5:23 PM Officers were in the lot of an area business on Langlade Road. The female owner of a vehicle gave officers consent to search her vehicle. A male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and bail jumping
Thursday, June 9th
5:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a couple from Jackson, Wisconsin reporting that their boat motor was missing from their fishing boat at their cabin on Pratt Road. The motor was taken between June 1st and June 9th. The boat was parked in the yard, visible from the roadway. The motor had been padlocked to the boat. The padlock was cut. The motor was a 1982ish 25HP Mercury. Its estimated value was $1,000. Photos were taken by officers.
9:07 PM Officers responded to a vehicle situation at State Hwy.64 and Cty. Rd. H. A tire flew off the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and the vehicle was now blocking traffic. There were no injuries. A tow truck was requested. The driver and passenger were from Rockford, IL.
Saturday, June 11th
11:52 PM Officers responded to a call from an off duty officer from another county reporting that a vehicle just struck a tree head on at County Road S and Spring Road. The vehicle also struck a mailbox prior to going off the road. No one was getting out of the vehicle. The male driver was cited for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. He refused medical treatment. Unknown injuries.
