Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 9/2/19

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Tuesday, August 20th

Officers responded to a report of an accident on N. Superior Street. A vehicle had left the roadway and struck the garage of a house on the west side of the road. It was unknown at the time of the call if there were any injuries.

Officers responded to a call from the Probation and Parole office requesting officers to arrest a male subject on a Probation Hold. The subject was arrested and taken to Corrections.

Wednesday, August 21st

Officers responded to a report of an accident at S. Superior Street and 10th Avenue. A vehicle versus a pedestrian. Emergency Medical Services were dispatched.

Thursday, August 22nd

Officers assisted on call with the Antigo Fire Department for an apartment filled with smoke on Clermont Street. It was determined that the microwave was the cause of the smoke.

Officers responded to a call from the Probation and Parole office requesting officers to arrest a subject on a Probation Hold. The subject was arrested and taken to Corrections.

Friday, August 23rd

Officers received a call from a female on Lincoln Street reporting that her purse was stolen from her locked vehicle in the driveway during the night of August 20th. The purse was described as a big brown purse with two short straps and a large snap, with a zebra striped wallet inside, some medication and a planner.

Officers responded to a report of a fender bender accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64.

 Saturday, August 24th

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at a residence on Lincoln Street. A female subject was knocking on the front door. The female was cited for disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she had backed into another car in the parking lot of an apartment building on 5th Avenue.

Officers responded to a call from a subject reporting that a traffic sign was hit by a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. The sign was down and blocking the road. The caller told officers that the striking vehicle had kept going.

Sunday, August 25th

Officers executed a warrant attempt at a residence on Superior Street. Officers made contact with the male subject at his front door. He was taken into custody and transported to Corrections.

Officers responded to a report of a needle found in the hole of a tree near the shelter at 2nd Avenue and Hudson Street. Officers properly disposed of the needle.

Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had a fake money order.

Officers responded to a call from the Langlade County Jail reporting that a subject was there visiting and it was discovered that the subject had an outstanding Langlade County Sheriff’s Office Warrant for theft of library materials in the amount of $310.47.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Century Avenue. A subject was taken into custody.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious male subject, lying on the curb on Deleglise Street. The subject was not moving at all. There was a bike near him. Officers returned the male subject and his bike to his residence.

LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT

Tuesday, August 20th

Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was in an accident on Cty. Rd. U, near Isle of Pines Drive. He told officers that he struck a bear with his truck.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was traveling southbound in the northbound lane on Hwy. 45. The vehicle did not stop. Officers eventually got the vehicle to stop on Hwy. 45, north of Cty. Rd. N. The vehicle was parking in the lot of an area business and the female driver was given a ride home. Officers completed a driver condition report.

Officers responded to a report of metal blocking the road in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 45 near Neva.

Officers responded to a call from a passerby reporting that a gold SUV was in a steep ditch on Cty. Rd. AA and Forrest Road. The caller told officers that he didn’t believe that the vehicle struck anything, but the female inside the vehicle appeared afraid to get out. Officers talked to the female driver who said that she had missed the corner. A passerby pulled her vehicle out. There was no damage.

Wednesday, August 21st

Officers received a call from a female reporting that her mother had possibly been scammed. The caller told officers that her mother had paid for some virus protection on her computer. She had been on the phone with them and had her computer on, typing an amount in and they emptied her account. Officers advised the female to have her mother call her bank immediately and try to stop the payment.

Thursday, August 22nd

Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding at Hwy. 45 and Forest Road. Officers discovered that a subject in the vehicle was wanted in Brown County. They were taken into custody.

A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he had been in an accident with another vehicle on Cty. Rd. HH. The male told officers that he had been backing up and hit the bed of a delivery truck that was parked on the side of the road. He told officers that there were no injuries and he had exchanged information with the other driver. He said that he had told the other driver that they could then leave. Officers advised the male subject that he should always contact law enforcement when an accident occurs and that no one should have left the scene. The male subject said that he was unaware of the correct procedure.

Sunday, August 25th

Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. J. One subject was bleeding from the mouth.

Officers responded to a report of a tree down in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 52 near Clover Road. The tree was too big for deputies to move. The Highway Department was contacted.

Monday, August 26th

Officers assisted emergency medical services with a call at an address on Hwy. 55 and E. Hollister Road. A male subject was in a processor that had tipped over and he was stuck inside. The male subject was bleeding from the ear and having a hard time breathing, possibly from a broken rib

Officers responded to a call from a female at a residence on Gruenberg Road reporting that she had noticed a light shining in her dining room windows and as soon as she walked into the kitchen they turned it off. She told officers that the subject/subjects were now near the corn field. Officers checked the property and outbuildings, but nothing of interest was found.
