July 28th

The day began with a harassment complaint filed at McDonald's on Neva Road at 7:48 AM. Shortly after, at 8:14 AM, a subject came to the Langlade County Safety Building to turn themselves in on a Department of Corrections warrant, leading to a report being filed. Other incidents included a report of a stolen bicycle at 9:00 AM. Officers were busy with several follow-up investigations throughout the day.

In the afternoon, a citizen requested assistance at 12:22 PM, and at 1:25 PM, a call came in regarding a vehicle repossession. Later, at 5:08 PM, a citizen in the lobby of the Safety Building reported that their license plate was removed and their vehicle was hit while at the Hoffman House. A report was also filed for a lost backpack, which was believed to have been left somewhere between Cornerstone Chiropractic and another location around 5:00-6:00 PM. A pair of lost earbuds were also turned in at the Safety Building at 6:05 PM.

Evening calls included a disorderly conduct incident at 6:49 PM where both involved parties were mailed citations. At 7:05 PM, suspicious activity was reported at a construction site at the intersection of Dorr Street and 10th Avenue, where a caller saw an individual taking items. Later, at 8:17 PM, a law request was made for an officer to check a residence to ensure no one was staying there; officers found no answer at the door. At 8:26 PM, a DNR matter was reported concerning a deer hit by a car near the dog park on State Road 64. The deer ultimately ran off into a nearby cornfield.

July 29th

At 12:00 AM, an officer completed a bank deposit at the CoVantage Credit Union drive-thru. A business check was conducted at Rainbow Laundry at 1:17 AM, where an officer encountered a person getting a soda whose coins had become stuck in the machine; the individual was subsequently moved along.

Morning activities included an animal complaint on Park Street at 7:46 AM regarding a cat in a trap, which was then released to the humane society and the trap returned to its owner. At 9:05 AM and 10:03 AM, individuals requested civil standbys from the Safety Building lobby, one for a property issue and another for a meeting at Menards. At 11:28 AM, a capped needle was found on 5th Avenue in front of an entrance and was retrieved by an officer.

Officers assisted with a funeral escort beginning around 12:12 PM, with crossing assistance needed at Clermont Street and 5th Avenue, as well as Superior Street and 5th Avenue. A juvenile offense was reported at Castle Park at 1:22 PM. Civil matters continued with a complaint on Lincoln Street at 2:43 PM. An animal complaint was filed at 2:48 PM for a dog running loose on Watson Street after it had broken through a screen door. A report of fraud was taken at the Safety Building at 3:35 PM from a citizen who stated they were scammed out of money from their CoVantage account. A lockout at Trends Hair Design on Clermont Street at 3:59 PM was resolved when the owner found her keys. At 4:46 PM, a theft report was filed by a woman who stated $3,000 was taken from her.

Evening calls began with a report of a downed wire at Freiburger Avenue and Mary Street at 4:51 PM, which an officer confirmed was a non-hazardous phone wire. At 5:57 PM, a drug-related call was received concerning a white van near 9th Avenue and Field Street, but officers were unable to locate the vehicle. A motorist assist was provided on State Road 64 at 6:23 PM for a vehicle that had powered down near the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin; a dealership was sending a tow truck. At 11:01 PM, officers made a bank deposit at the CoVantage drive-thru.

July 31st

Early morning calls included a noise complaint at 4:03 AM regarding loud music from a bonfire party; the individuals were advised and agreed to turn the music down. A traffic stop at 4:30 AM at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue resulted in a citation being issued.

At 8:38 AM, a traffic stop at Superior Street and 4th Avenue led to a 10-day written warning for a registration violation. An animal complaint at 9:35 AM involved a small dog found in Polar that was subsequently taken to the humane society. Citizen assists included a request for help getting to a surgery appointment at 9:43 AM. Afternoon calls involved a fraud report at 1:23 PM, a public relations visit to the Boys and Girls Club Teen Center at 2:59 PM, and a noise complaint at 3:04 PM for sounds of explosions in a backyard near 5th Avenue and Deleglise Street, which officers were unable to locate. Another noise complaint about loud music at 3:56 PM was resolved after officers spoke with the individuals involved. A traffic complaint was lodged at 5:49 PM against a reckless driver who allegedly ran a four-way stop, but the vehicle was not found.

August 1st

The early hours of the morning saw a traffic stop at Watson Street and 7th Avenue at 12:22 AM, resulting in a verbal warning. At 6:10 AM, officers responded to an alarm at Taco Bell on Neva Road and found everything to be in order.

A civil complaint was initiated at 7:16 AM by a person who had moved out of an apartment and needed to arrange for a civil standby to retrieve their belongings. Throughout the morning and afternoon, officers conducted numerous traffic stops. A written warning was issued at Clermont Street and Mendlik Avenue at 9:17 AM, a verbal warning at Superior Street and 1st Avenue at 10:10 AM, and a citation for speed was given at Superior Street and 7th Avenue at 10:39 AM.

At 12:29 PM, a 911 hang-up call originating from Chase Bank was investigated; bank staff confirmed everything was okay. A traffic stop at Neva Road and North Avenue at 12:34 PM concluded with a verbal warning. Officers provided motorist assistance on State Road 64 at Dunhams at 1:22 PM, where a truck was being loaded onto a car hauler. An alarm call at 2:02 PM from CoVantage Northside on Progress Boulevard was determined to be a false alarm after contact was made with staff. Another traffic stop at 2:46 PM at Century Avenue and Clermont Street resulted in a two-week correction notice for no insurance and non-registration.

In the late afternoon, an officer was on beat patrol at Lake Park on Hudson Street at 3:43 PM. Officers spoke with the reporting party and then attempted to contact the owner, but no one answered the door, though dogs could be heard inside. Another animal complaint came in at 7:19 PM for two dogs barking continuously; an officer advised the homeowners, though no barking was heard upon arrival. A traffic stop at the Langlade County Fairgrounds at 7:28 PM resulted in a verbal warning for speed and expired insurance. At 7:54 PM, a minor property damage accident in a private driveway was reported, with no need for a formal crash report. A traffic stop at 8:26 PM at 5th Avenue and Virginia Street ended with a written warning for an improper right turn. August 2nd

Later in the morning, at 10:55 AM, another animal complaint was reported on Mendlik Avenue between Saratoga Street and Deleglise Street. At 1:16 PM, a report regarding a civil complaint was filed. A citizen reported losing their driver's license at 1:36 PM, believing it was left at Fleet Farm on Neva Road.

In the afternoon, a suspicious vehicle was reported at 4:04 PM, described as being parked in the roadway for an extended period, forcing other cars to drive around it. Traffic enforcement at 4:46 PM at Rusch Road and US 45 resulted in a citation for operating while suspended. A traffic stop at 5:11 PM in the Culver's parking lot on Neva Road concluded with a verbal warning for a defective exhaust and no proof of insurance. A warrant-related incident occurred at the Antigo Public Library at 6:55 PM, resulting in a report being filed.

The evening continued with an officer on beat patrol along the boardwalk at 2nd Avenue and Langlade Road at 8:21 PM. A traffic stop at the Kwik Trip on South Superior Street at 8:38 PM also led to a report being filed. An animal complaint regarding a dog and cat running loose in the Family Dollar parking lot at 8:40 PM ended with the animals being unable to be located. A traffic complaint was forwarded at 9:24 PM about a vehicle swerving on State Road 52 and County Road V. The day ended with a traffic stop at 11:09 PM at 9th Avenue and Clermont Street, where a 10-day correction notice was given for expired registration and no proof of insurance.

August 3rd

The day began with a pair of traffic stops on Superior Street. At 12:09 AM, a stop at 4th Avenue resulted in a verbal warning for speed. Ten minutes later, another stop at 12:19 AM involved a field sobriety test; the driver was ultimately given a verbal warning for speed and unsafe lane deviation.

At 9:03 AM, an animal complaint was received about a residence having too many chickens and a rooster that was crowing. An officer visited the property, noted there were four chickens including a rooster, and informed the resident of the ordinance. No goat was found in the garage as the caller had also suggested. The officer planned to check back later in the week to ensure compliance. A heated dispute was reported at Fleet Farm at 9:23 AM, where a male party allegedly became aggressive after accusing a caller of "rolling coal" towards his vehicle. The caller, who was a concealed carry holder, stated he warned the male he would defend himself if his truck door was opened.

A fireworks complaint on Hogan Street at 12:51 PM resulted in a warning being issued. At 2:50 PM, a report of potential abuse or neglect came from the Culver's drive-thru, where a caller overheard a small child crying and telling a male in the back seat, "I hate you". A disorderly conduct call from Aspirus Langlade Hospital at 3:31 PM involved an aggressive patient in the emergency room. The individual was cited and instructed not to return unless it was an emergency.

Afternoon traffic enforcement included a stop at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street at 4:15 PM resulting in a speed citation, a stop at 7th Avenue and Superior Street at 5:04 PM which ended in a verbal warning, and another stop at 5:32 PM involving a white Honda Civic at Superior Street and 7th Avenue.

Evening incidents included a 911 hang-up call at 6:49 PM from Head Start on Edison Street, where yelling could be heard in the background. A traffic stop at 7:54 PM resulted in a citation for operating while suspended being mailed to the driver. Another stop at Taco John's on Edison Street at 8:07 PM concluded with multiple verbal warnings. At 8:53 PM, an officer assisted a citizen at Clermont Street and Badger Avenue, which involved a vehicle search. The day concluded with a criminal damage report at 10:17 PM on Hogan Street, where a side door was found off its hinges. Officers requested backup to clear the residence.

July 29th

The day started with an animal accident at 5:31 AM at the intersection of County Road X and Western Avenue, where a car struck a deer. The caller handled the report, and the deceased deer was moved from the roadway. A wallet lost the previous day was reported found at 6:24 AM. At 9:13 AM, a caller shared information about a stolen truck possibly being located in a barn on Price-Polar Road for an engine swap, though a search of the buildings was unsuccessful.

A civil complaint was lodged at 10:14 AM from West Perch Lake Lane, where a resident, upset about postal vehicles turning around in his driveway, allegedly threatened to place boards with nails on his property and placed a pallet on the road's shoulder. The dispute resulted in the postal service halting delivery to the last two houses on the road. A deputy advised that the pallet on the shoulder was a safety hazard and would be addressed.

At 12:32 PM, a lockout was reported on Carter Road after a driver locked keys in their vehicle; deputies were unable to gain entry, and the driver made other arrangements. A harassment complaint was filed at 12:46 PM by a woman who reported receiving nonstop calls and threats. Later, at 3:26 PM, a suspicious white tanker truck with no markings was reportedly seen with a hose going into the river off a bridge on County Road B. The matter was referred to the warden. Multiple controlled burns were reported in the evening, one on County Road S and another on Ugarbush Road set to burn through the night. A third was reported on Church Road.

At 4:30 PM, a traffic complaint was made about a black pickup with a topper and two bikes on the back swerving and passing unsafely on US 45 near Mark Lane; the vehicle was not located. Deputies assisted a citizen at 4:56 PM on US 45 where a vehicle was blocking diesel pumps; the owner was contacted and arranged for its removal. At 5:17 PM, multiple 911 hang-up calls came from a residence on Red Pine Drive, where a person of interest has a Langlade County warrant. Upon investigation, no vehicles were at the residence and there was no answer at the door.

July 30th

Early morning traffic stops included one at 3:41 AM on US 45 and Valley Vista Road for a defective headlight and another at 6:19 AM on State Road 64 and Highland Road for speed. Both drivers received verbal warnings.

July 31st

A domestic incident was reported at 5:47 AM on Fraley Road, where a male allegedly attacked a female and slashed her tires. The male reportedly had a knife, which he later claimed to have dropped. Neither party required medical attention. At 10:25 AM, a deputy delivered a message on Cherry Road for a citizen who was unable to make contact due to phone service issues regarding a tire that flew off a recently purchased machine.

Traffic complaints in the afternoon and evening included a speeding black truck with a "Rough Country" decal on County Road AA at 4:42 PM, and a dark-colored UTV speeding on North Avenue at 6:22 PM; neither vehicle was located. At 7:14 PM, a civil complaint was filed regarding a dispute at a vacation home on Rolling Stone Lake Road where a person who had been legally removed from the property deed was refusing to leave. Deputies advised the caller it was a civil matter and to call 911 if the situation escalated.

An animal complaint was handled at 7:56 PM when a Shepherd and a husky, one with blood on it, were brought to the lobby after being found near County Road HH and County Road Y. The dogs were later picked up and taken to a private residence. Suspicious activity calls included a report of a woman sitting on the side of the road on County Road HH at 8:05 PM, and three people in all black walking in the middle of Pioneer Road at 9:04 PM. A traffic stop at 9:27 PM on County Road H and State Road 64 resulted in a verbal warning for a defective taillight.

August 1st

Traffic complaints started the day with a report at 10:11 AM of a black Chevy Suburban and a black Jeep passing in a no-passing zone with oncoming traffic on US 45. At 1:04 PM, a traffic stop on County Road K and Luther Lane resulted in a verbal warning for speed. A civil dispute was reported at 2:49 PM where a neighbor allegedly gunned their vehicle, spitting gravel onto the caller’s truck; the incident was documented. A 911 hang-up call at 2:58 PM from Parkside Lane was confirmed to be accidental, made by someone doing lawn care.

In the afternoon, a motorist assist was provided at 4:19 PM for a vehicle with a camper that went into a ditch on US 45, possibly losing a couple of tires. A traffic stop at 4:45 PM on State Road 64 and Highland Road resulted in a citation for speed and a verbal warning for registration. Another traffic complaint was received at 5:52 PM for a burgundy Ford F-150 speeding on US 45. A traffic stop at 6:22 PM on County Road A and County Road TT ended with a verbal warning for speed.

Evening incidents included a report of three men shooting guns, including what was believed to be a machine gun, at the boat landing on Turtle Lake Road at 7:14 PM. The men left in a white Chevy Malibu before deputies arrived. Casings from .22, 9mm, 5.56, and 12-gauge firearms were found. A later report indicated a swan was found dead in the lake. Multiple controlled burns were also reported, one on County Road D and another on State Road 64.

At 8:15 PM, a deputy found that a deer carcass reported on the side of the road at County Road A and County Road S was a fawn that got up and ran away. A traffic stop at 8:32 PM on US 45 and County Road C resulted in a citation for speed. At 10:12 PM, a suspicious person wearing all black was reported walking in the roadway on County Road Y while blaring music; the female refused to identify herself or accept any assistance. Several traffic stops were conducted for minor violations, including a defective headlight and no plates. A fireworks complaint came in from the Summit Lake beach area at 10:59 PM, a recurring issue according to a caller. At 11:00 PM, a suspicious person in all black was reported waving something in the air at County Road HH and County Road Y; a deputy located the individual and gave her a ride into town at her request. The night ended with a traffic stop at 11:43 PM on North Avenue and Neva Road, where a verbal warning for speed was issued.

August 2nd

Early morning incidents included an accidental 911 hang-up call from South Superior Street at 12:13 AM. At 4:09 AM, a commercial alarm was triggered by center motion; a keyholder responded, and the property was found to be secure. A single-vehicle accident was reported at 4:27 AM on State Road 55 and Deer Park Lane, with a car in the ditch.

At 7:52 AM, a civil complaint was made regarding a missed custody exchange. Tree branches blocking the road at a BP North gas station were cleared at 10:10 AM. A traffic complaint about a black Chevy Silverado with lumber in the back driving at a high rate of speed on US 45 was received at 10:18 AM. A deer carcass was reported for pickup in a ditch on County Road V at 11:32 AM.

Deputies provided motorist assistance at 12:55 PM on US 45 and County Road I to a person changing a tire on a boat trailer. At 1:21 PM, a traffic complaint was received from Lincoln County about a crotch rocket motorcycle that had been pursued but was last seen eastbound on County Road C. A report of three or four UTVs driving on Highway 45 in Summit Lake came in at 1:37 PM, but they were not located. Traffic stops for speeding resulted in verbal warnings on County Road I at 1:43 PM, State Road 64 and Polar Road at 7:20 PM, County Road C and County Road I at 7:10 PM, and State Road 47 and County Road S at 8:42 PM.

Several 911 hang-up calls throughout the day were all confirmed to be accidental. A traffic complaint at 4:24 PM involved a man in an orange vest trying to stop traffic on US 45 for motorcycles to cross, but he was not found. An animal-related accident was reported at 8:10 PM on State Road 47, where a vehicle hit a deer that then ran off. A traffic complaint for a red van swerving was reported at 9:15 PM on State Road 52. At 9:41 PM, a traffic stop on US 45 and County Road I resulted in a verbal warning for failure to maintain a lane. At 10:00 PM, a citizen reported a disabled white Chevy Silverado on the side of US 45, advising they would retrieve it in the morning. A deputy gave the owner 36 hours to have it removed. A late traffic stop at 10:54 PM on State Road 64 resulted in a verbal warning for speed.

August 3rd

A report of a large ladder in the northbound lane of US 45 just south of Birch Road came in at 12:23 AM, but deputies were unable to locate it. At 1:25 AM, a deputy conducted a business check on Bissell Street. A traffic stop at 2:37 AM on State Road 64 and County Road M involved a field sobriety test, which was passed, and concluded with a verbal warning for speed.

The morning saw two car-versus-deer accidents. The first occurred at 6:15 AM on US 45 and Knight Road, requiring a tow truck, and the second was at 9:47 AM on US 45 and County Road T, with the caller planning to file a voluntary report. At 9:55 AM, a complaint was made about a dog left in a truck with cracked windows at Mueller Lake. A residential back-door alarm on County Road A at 10:12 AM was determined to be a false alarm.

An animal accident was reported at 1:36 PM on US 45, with the driver planning to file an online report. Numerous traffic stops were conducted throughout the evening. Verbal warnings for speed were issued at US 45 and Branch Road, County Road A and Pence Lake Road, and US 45 and County Road J. A citation for failing to register a motor vehicle and a verbal for speed were given on Lost Lake Road. A traffic stop on County Road C and Town Forest Road ended with a verbal warning for a defective headlight, and another on US 45 and County Road T resulted in a citation for speed.

At 9:21 PM, a deputy provided motorist assistance to a driver who had pulled over on County Road C to order a pizza on her phone. At 10:14 PM, another car-deer accident was reported on State Road 64. Suspicious activity calls included a report of a truck circling a residence on County Road A at 10:21 PM, which was not located, and another at 10:19 PM on Oak Road, where a resident heard eight bangs that sounded like gunshots; deputies were unable to find the source.

August 4th

A traffic complaint at 10:34 AM involved a yellow VW Beetle that nearly hit a dump truck in the work zone on State Road 64. At 1:48 PM, a 911 hang-up call from a field on State Road 64 was confirmed to be an accidental dial by someone mowing.

Deputies checked on motorists stopped on the roadside, one on North White Lake Drive at 4:46 PM and another on US 45 at 5:31 PM, both of whom had pulled over to make phone calls. An animal complaint about a German shepherd in the roadway on US 45, causing traffic to back up, was received at 5:20 PM; the dog was gone upon arrival. A harassment complaint was filed at 5:27 PM by a person and their mother who reported receiving threats from an ex after moving out of a shared home.

The White Wolf Fire Department conducted a controlled burn at the intersection of State Road 64 and County Road P starting at 5:33 PM. Traffic stops in the evening included a verbal warning for speeding and expired registration on US 45 and Knight Road at 7:28 PM, a written warning for a defective taillight and no insurance on State Road 64 and Sherry Road at 9:26 PM, a verbal for speed on US 45 and County Road T at 9:43 PM, a verbal for speed and no proof of insurance on US 45 and County Road N at 10:47 PM, and a verbal for a defective trailer light on County Road B at 11:03 PM.

August 5th

At 1:59 AM, a commercial burglar alarm for warehouse motion was activated on US 45. A responding keyholder and deputy checked the property and found nothing out of the ordinary. Early morning traffic stops on State Road 64 and Roehrig Road resulted in a verbal warning for a defective headlight at 3:50 AM and a citation for operating after revocation at 4:05 AM. At 4:34 AM, a suspicious male with a fishing pole was reported walking in a parking lot on County Road A, but he was not located.

A morning traffic stop at 7:47 AM on State Road 64 and Roehrig Road concluded with verbal warnings for speed and a defective taillight. At 9:28 AM, a deputy encountered a suspicious, intoxicated male on County Road T who claimed to have been thrown out of a moving black SUV by a female driver. The male, who registered a 0.155 on a preliminary breath test, was subsequently taken into custody.

Civil matters included a request for a standby to retrieve belongings on Flight Road at 1:11 PM, and another at 3:48 PM on Maxwell Lake Road regarding a property easement dispute and veiled threats. A residential burglar alarm on Neva Lake Road at 7:45 PM was canceled by the owner, who was having issues with the system.

Evening traffic enforcement included a traffic stop at 7:13 PM on US 45 and County Road A for speed, resulting in a verbal warning. A stop at 7:44 PM on County Road S and Clay Road for no license plate ended with a citation for speed and a verbal warning for non-registration. A noise complaint about a dog barking for days on County Road T was addressed at 8:14 PM; the owner, who was away, was contacted and confirmed that neighbors were caring for the dogs. Several more traffic stops for speeding on County Road S resulted in verbal warnings. At 9:12 PM, a criminal damage report was filed from Enterprise Lake Road, where a person allegedly drove through and damaged the caller's yard. A deputy attempted to make contact with the suspect but no one came to the door.

August 6th

Early morning traffic stops included one at 3:56 AM on County Road B for failure to stop and speed, resulting in a verbal warning. At 4:09 AM, a stop on State Road 52 for a defective headlight ended with a verbal warning and advice for the unlicensed driver to have a friend drive. Another stop for an out taillight on Lake Street occurred at 4:42 AM. At 6:46 AM, a deputy was on patrol for animals on the highway on State Road 64. A traffic complaint at 7:15 AM about a person with no driver's license or registration was found to be inaccurate, as the driver was confirmed to be valid. A traffic stop at 7:30 AM on State Road 64 and Shadey Road concluded with a citation for no proof of insurance and a verbal warning for speed.
