Antigo Police Reports for 11/23/15

Saturday, November 14th

7:27pm Officers respond to a call of possible drug paraphernalia that male found at the transitional living house. Evidence was collected and logged in. Copy sent to probation and parole.

4:04pm Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Prosser Place. Male is arrested on a Langlade County body only warrant for manufacturing/delivery of THC, possession of THC & possession of drug paraphernalia.

3:36pm Officers respond to a call of shoplifting at an area business. Juvenile male is issued a citation for retail theft.

2:53am Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlick Street. Male is issued a citation for operating after revocation 1st offense.

7:02pm Officers respond to a call of theft at a business on Amron Avenue. Suspect was confronted for the theft of a cellphone and was acting nervous. Phone was found a short time later, in a location that the suspect was at.

Friday, November 13th

7:02pm Officers respond to a call of shoplifting at an area business by three females. Females had left business in vehicle. Officers located vehicle on St. Hwy. 45 southbound from Cty. Rd. X. Vehicle turned on St. Rd. 47 as sheriff’s officers approached.

6:02pm Juvenile male stopped at police department to report the theft of his gaming system and several games from the basement of an area residence. Male stated that he had left the items there and had gone back today to pick them up, but the items were now gone. Officer’s talked to home owner and another juvenile, but items were not located.

5:50pm While officers were at the hospital, a female came to the hospital stating that she had been punched in the face by another female. Officers will be referring other female for battery and disorderly conduct.

12:33pm Officers respond to a call of property damage on 5th Avenue. Female reported that her neighbor backed up their vehicle and hit her garage. Neighbor was not home at that time. There is damage to the garage. Officer will stop back at a later time.

Thursday, November 12th

1:05pm Officers received a report of a trailer loaded with hay, tipped over on Hwy. 64 east of Hwy. 45 on the bypass. Tow truck was notified.

9:00am Male Antigo resident requested to speak with an officer regarding possible scam, about winning money from Publisher’s Clearing House. Male said that a caller saying he was from Wells Fargo wants to meet him at the bank to sign papers tomorrow. Caller said that they don’t go to houses anymore with checks. Male was advised that this is a scam, but to call police department if someone shows up.

Wednesday, November 11th

5:19pm Female stopped at the Safety Building to report that on November 6th around 9:30pm, she left her purse in the bathroom at an area business. Someone later took the purse and left it in the parking lot. Various items and $150 in cash was taken. Video of business will be checked.

10:24am Officers respond to a call from an area business. An elderly female in the drive-thru struck the pole twice. Vehicle then left eastbound on Hwy. 64. Vehicle was located in the parking lot of another area business. There was no damage to the vehicle.

2:11am Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. Female is cited for no insurance and given a written warning for failure to display registration.

Tuesday, November 10th

6:41pm Female on Clermont Street called to report the theft of a 20 gauge Winchester shotgun from her husband’s unlocked truck. The theft if believed to have occurred between 11/1/15 & 11/2/15.

11:35am Officers respond to burglary call on 1st Avenue. Male reports that $5,000 worth of fishing poles were taken from his garage. Pictures were taken of the reel boxes and lures that should be with the poles.

9:37am Officers respond to a call of shoplifting at a business on Neva Road earlier that morning. Male is observed on camera, placing items in the front of his pants. Clerk noticed the items in male suspect’s pants, told him to return the items and was told to not return to the store.

9:05am Officers responded to a call of shoplifting at a business on Fifth Avenue that occurred the day before. Male was observed on video camera walking out of the business without paying for an item. Officers later talked with male, who admitted to being at the business and said that he just forgot to pay. Male was advised that he would be issued a citation.

Monday, November 9th

4:54pm – Officers respond to a call on 8th Avenue of unknown male entering residence. Male resident stated that while in his room, his dogs started barking and he heard someone walking up the stairs. When male looked out, he observed a thin male running down the stairs and out the front door. The suspect then ran northbound down the alley. There was a bicycle in the yard, believed to belong to the suspect. Officers were unable to locate the subject. Approximately 40 minutes later, the bike disappeared from the yard.

12:57pm – Female stopped at the Police Department to report that her car had been struck while she was at an area business. She got there at about 9:30am and found the damage at 10:30am. Officers left a message with business to check their video.

12:30pm – Female stopped at the Safety Building to report a computer scam. She received a request via her computer to fix a computer problem. She was told if it was not fixed the FBI would be shutting down computers with the virus. Female was told that they could fix the problem and then she could wire them money. Female was advised that this is a scam and that the attempt is probably from out of the country.
