Antigo Police Reports for 1/18/16

Sunday, January 10th

8:43 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a female driving with no headlights. Female caller flagged down female driver to tell her about the headlights. Female driver seemed “out of it.” Driver drove up on the curb and continued northbound. Officers located vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. Female driver is having cataract surgery next week. She was advised not to drive at night.

4:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Superior Street. Male driver was issued a citation for speed.

3:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Center Street. Male driver was issued a citation for speed.

9:45 AM Officers received a call from a female on Clermont Street reporting that her front door was hit by a paintball sometime during the night. The homes on the west side of the 200 block of Clermont Street were also hit by paintballs.

2:34 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Superior Street. Male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, January 9th

10:26 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 5th Avenue. Male driver was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license.

2:21 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at the fairgrounds on Neva Road. Female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 4th offense.

Friday, January 8th

8:24 PM Officers responded to call about a silver car and a truck racing around in the parking lot of an area business. Caller was concerned for people walking in the parking lot and the slippery roadway. Officers stopped the vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. Male driver was warned about his driving habits.

4:42 PM Officers responded to an accident at 5th Avenue and Elm Street. One driver had a possible head injury. Male was transported to hospital by Antigo Fire Department.

12:14 PM Officers received a report from a female reporting the theft of her laptop computer while she was at an area business on Superior Street.

8:58 AM Officers received a call from an area attorney on behalf of an area banking institution. The former owner of an area business that is undergoing foreclosure has been removing appliances from this business. Officers spoke with the male subject over the phone. Subject admitted to removing the items. Officers advised him to not do anything else with the property until the issue was investigated further.

12:08 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 9th Avenue. Male driver was issued a citation for driver’s license restrictions.

Thursday, January 7th

1:15 PM Officers received a report from a female on 6th Avenue about the theft of some medication from her unlocked vehicle. Two types of medication were taken. Medication was last seen at approximately 8:00 PM on 1/6/16. Medication was noticed missing at about 7:30 AM on 1/7/16.

6:31 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Morse Street. Male driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Wednesday, January 6th

6:55 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Arctic Street. Property damage only. Female driver of one vehicle had an active warrant for failure to pay a fine for parking where prohibited.

1:14 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 6th Avenue reporting that a pool cue, case & accessories were taken from his unlocked vehicle in the driveway. Officers received a description of the items that were valued at a total of $800. The items were left in the male’s vehicle on 12/29/15 and gone when he went to get them later. There was also $5-$6 worth of change missing from the console of the vehicle.

11:27 AM Officers responded to a report from a female on Clermont Street that her medication was stolen. The female was discharged from the hospital the day before, after having surgery. She was now in a lot of pain. A statement was taken by the officers.

Tuesday, January 5th

10:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Edison Street. Male driver was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license, 2nd offense.

3:40 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and Graham Avenue. Female driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Monday, January 4th

3:40 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road for a retail theft. Female was cited for retail theft.

2:45 PM Officers received a call from a female on Charlotte Street reporting that snow was being dumped in open field across the street from her house throughout the night, keeping her awake. Officers talked with the owner of the business dumping the snow. He told officers that he had to do the dumping that night due to lack of staff on the weekend. He told officers that he will do the dumping during the day, when he can. Female was advised on how to get a better ordinance to deal with this situation.
