KNUTSON THROWS NO-HITTER AS ANTIGO TYPHOON CRUSHES CLINTONVILLE 11-1

ANTIGO, WI — A flawless pitching performance by Bentley Knutson carried the Antigo Typhoon Jr. Legion Post #3 to an 11-1 victory over Clintonville on Monday. Knutson was completely untouchable on the mound, baffling opposing hitters and keeping Clintonville completely hitless through five innings of work.

Knutson struck out 12 batters, gave up zero runs, and issued only two walks during his dominant, five-inning starting performance.

The Typhoon offense broke the game wide open in the bottom of the third inning. Knutson helped his own cause by driving in two runs with a single. Austin Martinson followed with an RBI groundout, and a wild pitch allowed another run to score, giving Antigo all the momentum they needed.

Antigo’s offense was firing on all cylinders, racking up 11 hits and showing incredible discipline with six total walks. Number-nine hitter Braydn Bricko led the offensive surge, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. Knutson finished 2-for-3 with a team-high three RBIs, while Eli Cornelius added two hits. Joshua Murphy also showed a sharp eye, drawing three walks before later appearing on the mound in relief.

Once on the base paths, the Typhoon were unstoppable. The team terrorized Clintonville's defense with nine stolen bases, led by Bricko, Carter Krueger, and Levi Strobel, who all recorded multiple steals.

Clintonville struggled to find answers all afternoon. Their starting pitcher took the loss, surrendering four runs (two earned) on five hits over three innings. Clintonville’s only offensive production came late from batters #10 and #6, who each managed a hit, with #10 driving in their lone run.

With this commanding victory behind them, Antigo Typhoon Jr. Legion Post #3 will travel to Shawano on Wednesday looking to keep their momentum rolling.
