Blanche Emma Sailer, 95

Blanche Emma Sailer died Monday, December 31, 2018 at Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and her family. She was 95 years old.

She was born March 17, 1923 in Greenwood, WI, daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie (Poirier) Long. Blanche moved to Antigo with her family at the age of 9. She married the late Joseph Sailer on July 17, 1943 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Antigo, and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2007.

Mrs. Sailer enjoyed traveling and gardening, but her family was her greatest treasure. She was formerly a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Calvin) Kolpack of Antigo; two sons, Michael (Becky) Sailer of Superior MT, and Wayne (Kay) Sailer of Antigo; 2 sisters, Ruth Olson of Antigo, and Evelyn (Louis) Drescher of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Jean Long of Clintonville; a brother-in-law, Bill Vermette of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter-in-law, Peg Sailer; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, James Sailer; a daughter-in-law, Diane Sailer; 3 sisters, Gladys Gould, Marion Vermette, and Stella Spencer; two brothers, Vern and Allen Long; her father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Toni Sailer; sister-in-law, Elaine Robinson; a brother-in-law, Eugene Sailer; and a great-great-granddaughter.

A funeral will take place Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Barry Levine officiating. Visitation will be 11:00-12:30 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery.
