Chritstine DeBroux, 71

Christine “Chris” DeBroux, age 71, of Antigo died November 24, 2016 at Homme Home in Wittenberg under the care of LeRoyer Hospice after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

She was born in Antigo, WI, on February 16, 1945 to the late H. Clayton and Ella (Drew) Hull. She was in the first graduating class of Crestwood Elementary after several country schools were consolidated, and then attended Antigo School, graduating in 1963. She married Ronald Joseph DeBroux on August 21, 1965 in Antigo, WI. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2013.

She attended and graduated from several programs at NTC, one of those being the Certified Nursing Assistant program. She did home care for Langlade Memorial Hospital from 1990 for 14 years until the program ended and then worked in the hospital for 2 years, then Care Partners for a year. She also cared for Mrs. Jerome Filbrandt until retiring in 2012.

She served in many ways within the community as a Brownie Leader, Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, Project Leader in 4-H, and Sunday School Teacher. She belonged to the Town and Country Homemakers. She also enjoyed Bible studies, various types of crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, games, scrabble, sewing and crocheting afghans for all her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter.

Chris loved to spend time with her children, her daughter Rhonda (Troy) Trull of Antigo, sons, Darron, Dale (Tina & Lacy Rice) of Deerbrook, Dean (Katherine) of Monroe, GA, Wayne (Stacey) of Neenah, and her grandchildren, Joshua Trull, Clayton, Brandon, James “Jimmy”, Alexis, Sidney, Brianna, Ian, Noah, Logan, and great granddaughter, Nevaeh DeBroux, step grandson, Elijah, a step niece, Diana (Jack) Wurtinger, Jr. and family, a step nephew, Pete (Kay) Ballas, longtime friends, Ruthie Crandall, Reinhardt and Jeannett Balcerzak, Barbara Sheldon, and Diane Truman.

She is further survived by one brother Alan (Kathy) Hull and their daughters, Tina (Tim) Onson, and Shelly (Brian) Sippl and their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert J. Hull, and an infant grandson, Devon, son of Wayne and Stacey DeBroux, and sister-in-laws, Judianne “Judy” Hull and Joan Bellomy, and a brother-in-law, Dale Bellomy.

She attended Faith Center Church of God and Antigo Community Church. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00PM until 7:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Antigo Community Church with visitation from 10:00 until the service at the church. Pastor Andy Wallace will officiate. Interment will be in Elcho Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in her name.
