To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the last game Lombardi coached for the Green Bay Packers, the Shawano County Arts Council will be presenting a reprise of the play “Lombardi” by Eric Simonson for 3 performances. The play is a study of the human side of one of the most memorable & quoted personalities of all time. Most of the play takes place somewhere in the middle of the 1965 National Football League season, the first of 3 consecutive championship years for the Packers. A young reporter from Look Magazine, who also narrates the story, is sent to do an article about the legendary Lombardi. Throughout there is a generational struggle between the reporter & the coach, almost a father-son conflict. The frustrated & at times melancholy Marie Lombardi & three of Lombardi’s best players, Dave Robinson, Paul Hornung & Jim Taylor try to mediate the dispute. For the Friday & Saturday evening shows, we will be offering dinner performances. Seating will commence at 5pm. Dinner at 5:30pm & the play at 7pm. There will also be general seating available these nights with tickets at $12 for adults and $7 for students. Tickets for the dinner & the play will be $40 per person.
