Winter Wonderland Life Size Holiday Card Display December 3rd- January 7th Peaceful Valley Park and Festival Grounds, 420 Field St., Antigo. Join us in creating a Winter Wonderland display for our community to enjoy. The setting will take place in the Peaceful Valley Festival Grounds (parking lot north of Peaceful Valley Park - 420 Field Street; north of 6th Avenue and west of the Field Street & 6th Avenue intersection). Decorate along the east and west walkways and center median with a life size Christmas card from your business or organization and take advantage of this opportunity to advertise your business, promote your organization and create a Winter Wonderland for our community. You may also choose to decorate the landscaped areas within the Festival Grounds Parking Lot. Set-up: Once you register, you may start setting-up your displays. We would like to have displays set-up in time for the annual Christmas Parade on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Take-down: We ask that you please remove your displays by Monday, January 7, 2019. Computer Troubleshooting December 3rd 1-3pm Northcentral Technical College, 312 Forrest Ave., Antigo. This instructor led course is designed to help learners identify problems with their computers and how to use online tools such as CC Cleaner, Malware Bytes, and virus scans. Topics will include back-ups, restore points, and other troubleshooting issues. Learners are encouraged to bring their own laptops, NTC computers will also be available. Strong Bones with Kathy December 4th & December 6th (Every Tues. & Thur.) 9-10am Langlade County Senior Center, 1225 Langlade Rd., Antigo. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Northcentral Technical College (NTC) will be hosting a beginning welding course designed to help you learn the proper welding techniques in a variety of processes. The sessions will feature customized instruction in specific areas of interest. This provides the most flexibility for you to learn in the areas that you most prefer. The cost of the class is $75. This presentation will help give attendees an awareness of typical scams that are used and will provide tools and techniques for outsmarting those seeking to gain information. The cost is $5. Annual Chili Cook-Off December 5th 8am-5:30pm Downtown Antigo along Fifth Avenue. Antigo/Langlade County Chamber presents its Annual Chili Cook-off. Teams will compete in either the roughneck division or traditional division. Chili samples will be handed out starting at 5:30pm. During the chili cook-off, the Antigo Optimist Club will be selling deep fried cheese curds at the corner of Clermont & 5th Ave. Salvation Army volunteers will also be baking and serving chocolate chip cookies all day at the same corner. Preschool Story Time December 5th 10:30-11:15am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven't started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we'll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play.  This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

 Spices & Rubs December 5th 6-8:30pm Northcentral Technical College - Wittenberg Campus, 402 N Genesee St. #3, Wittenberg. This class will introduce learners to different types of spices and rubs while exploring their origins and how best to use them to maximize meals.

Antigo Christmas Parade December 5th 6:30pm Downtown Antigo along 5th Avenue. If you are looking for Christmas Spirit, this is the place to go! The Antigo/Langlade County Chamber of Commerce, Antigo Optimist & Kiwanis Club will host Antigo’s Christmas Parade! Businesses, organizations & individuals are encouraged to participate by entering a float. Parade floats must be ready for judging at 5:30pm. Prizes will be awarded in three categories. You can also join thousands of spectators along 5th Avenue for this great holiday tradition! The parade is filled with the sights & sounds of the holiday season. This amazing holiday parade features more than 40 floats with lights, sights, & sounds of Christmas! Entries by area businesses and organizations, the Antigo High School Marching Band, the American Legion Color Guard, the arrival of Santa, and more! 4th Annual Community Christmas Tree Decorating & Lighting December 7th 7pm WOW Art Park, 114 Vinal St., Wittenberg. Help kick off the Holiday Season in the WOW Art Park where many community members join the Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School Choir and fill the art park with Christmas carols. Hot cider along with cookies will be served.

Christmas for Kids December 8th 10am-Noon Ascension Lutheran Church, 1412 Neva Rd., Antigo. Located just one block south of the fairgrounds. In the two hours of the program we will teach the Christmas story, make Christian crafts, learn Christmas songs, decorate Christmas cookies, sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus, and play simple energy burning games.  This program is for children from age 3 through eighth grade. Mattoon Christmas Fair & Parade December 8th 1-6pm Community Hall, Mattoon. We will be serving chili, sandwiches & drinks for purchase. There will be lots of different vendors selling lots of different items. Santa will be coming form 3-5pm for pictures & presents for the kids. The historical society will also be having a bake sale buffet with candy & treats by the pound! The Christmas parade will begin at 5:30pm and the tree lighting will follow at the north ball diamond with hot drinks and music provided by the Mattoon Snow Runners.

Langlade County Community Ceramics, a non-profit painting group that meets every Monday and Friday from 9am-Noon at Sts. Mary & Hyacinth, Classroom 8, 819 3rd Ave., Antigo.  Class cost is $3.00, to cover paint and anyone is welcome. We also take art-related field trips four times a year.

Antigo MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers), a chapter of international group that offers encouragement and support to moms of kids ages 0-5. We have relevant and interesting speakers, fun crafts, yummy food and free childcare while we meet.
