4 & 5 Year Old Kindergarten Registration February 28th 3:30-6pm Antigo Middle School, Multi-purpose Room, 815 7th Ave., Antigo. Attention parents of 4 & 5 year olds in the Antigo School District, if your child will be age 4 or 5 on or before September 1st, 2017, it is time for Kindergarten registration. Please bring your child’s birth certificate or other document as proof of age & their immunization record. Children currently attending a public 4 year old kindergarten program do not need to attend. Fat Tuesday GUMBO Supper February 28th 4:30-7pm Bell Tower Residence Assisted Living, 1500 O'Day Street, Merrill. An authentic Creole Fat Tuesday meal will be served at Bell Tower Residence in Assisi Hall. Holy Cross Sister John Marie Simien will once again share her Creole roots through food at the Fat Tuesday Gumbo Supper. Cost is $10, $7 for carry outs, $4 for children under 12. Sister John Marie grew up in the Mallet Bayou in Louisiana where she lived until she was 20 years old. Her parents only spoke French & she learned English from her older brothers & sisters. She is the second youngest of 15 children.

7th Annual Mardi Gras Fundraiser February 28th 6-7pm Rhinelander Cafe & Pub, 33 N Brown St., Rhinelander. Come and enjoy the Rhinelander High School Green Shades Jazz Ensemble. 5:30pm appetizers, 6pm dinner. Tickets are $30. ($10 per ticket goes to the band.) Play & Learn March 2nd 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents and children to do together.  The activity will build skills for school readiness and milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages and Stages questionnaires are made available to parents and caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. Crossroads Community Theatre Presents their 6th Annual Murder Mystery Dinner Event March 3rd & 4th 6-9pm WOWSPACE, 114 Vinal Street, Wittenberg. Join the Crossroads Community Theatre for their annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, “Fishin’ For Trouble: A Whale of a Fateful Tale,” by Tony Schwartz & Marylou Ambrose. You will be attending the annual gala fundraiser for the “International Feed the Whales Foundation!”  Tickets are $35, and must be purchased in advance by calling 715-253-2737 or by purchasing them at 600 S Webb Street, Wittenberg.  When purchasing your ticket you will give your meal choice of either Cod Divan or Brown Sugar Chipotle Rubbed Pork Tenderloin.  There is space for only 50 diners/theatergoers each evening. Antigo High School Drama Club Presents The Addams Family March 3rd & 4th 7:30pm, March 5th 2pm & March 9th-11th 7:30pm Volm Theater, Antigo High School, 1900 10th Ave., Antigo. Tickets are $10 for adults and children 10 & under are $5. Tickets will be sold in the high school commons beginning February 21st at 5pm & sold Mondays-Thursdays from 5-7pm & two hours before the curtain, depending on availability. All seats are reserved.

Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts presents: Route 66 March 3rd 7:30-9:30pm Northland Pines High School, 1800 Pleasure Island Rd., Eagle River. A rip-roaring, pedal-to-the-medal road trip down memory lane featuring hits such as “Dead Man’s Curve,” “King of the Road,” “Little Old Lady from Pasadena,” “Six Days on the Road,” “GTO,” “Route 66” & many more.  Four snappy young pump jockeys will take you to various stops along the historic “Mother Road” where a menagerie of characters sing & dance to timeless pop & country tunes.  This show has it all & is fun for all ages. Tickets are on sale at Eagle River Roasters or at the door the night of the show. The Northland Pines High School commons area opens at 6pm. The auditorium doors open at 7pm. The performance begins at 7:30pm.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake March 4th Les and Jim's Lincoln Lanes, 1208 N. Center Ave., Merrill. Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Central Wisconsin brings Bowl to Kids’ Sake to Merrill.  This is a fundraiser for the Big Bothers Big Sister program in Merrill.  This year’s theme is movie characters! Squirrel Hill Skiathlon & Kids Race March 4th 9am Minocqua Winter Park, 7543 Squirrel Hill Rd, Minocqua. A continuous, dual technique race. Participants ski one lap in the classic technique, exchange gear, and immediately head out for a lap of skate skiing. Total race distances are 24 km(9.4 km classic + 15 km skate), 10 km (3.9 km classic + 6.1 km skate), and 4.5 km (2.2 km classic + 2.3 km skate). Rocking to Keep Hope Alive Benefit for Kayla Berg March 4th 5pm Antigo VFW, 1216 Elm Street, Antigo. Live music from several bands. $5 cover charge. Kayla vanished in August 2009. She left behind a grieving family desperate for answers. Proceeds from this benefit will help keep her memory alive as the search for answers continues.

Winter Park Bark Skijor Race March 5th 10am Minocqua Winter Park & Nordic Center, 7543 Squirrel Hill Road, Minocqua. Experienced & novice participants will compete with their dogs on our skijor loop, making one or two 5 km laps. The race will have solo starts at 30-second intervals & awards will be given to top overall finishers in each distance & dog class. Pups will be awarded with treats!
