Merrill Lion's Car Show September 3rd 8am Merrill Festival Grounds, 2211 E. 6th St., Merrill. Merrill Labor Day Parade September 3rd 10am S. Genesee & W. Main St., Merrill. Stand up and salute the service people that served our county.  Give them thanks as they go by.  Plus, enjoy the other floats as they work their way through the parade route. Watch the parade through the city of Merrill & head down to the Merrill Festival Grounds for flea market, food vendors, crafts, music and more.

Monday Night Women's Road Bike Ride September 3rd & September 10th 5:30pm Langlade Hospital, 112 E. 5th Ave., Antigo. The Women’s ride meets every Monday evening at 5:30pm at the Langlade Hospital parking lot off Hwy F. Everyone is welcome. The rides take place through September 17th. Strong Bones with Kathy September 4th & September 6th (Every Tues. & Thur.) 9-10am Langlade County Senior Center, 1225 Langlade Rd., Antigo. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Classes are offered for an hour, twice a week.  Pre-register by calling the Aging and Disability Resource Center at 715-627-6232.

Preschool Story Time September 5th 10:30-11:15am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven't started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we'll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play.  This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

So do we, and we have a ton of them.  Dig into our huge LEGO vats and unleash your creativity, then show off your creations to other LEGO enthusiasts!  Build together and make something amazing! Hunter Education & Bow Hunter Education Classes starting September 5th 4:30-8pm, Antigo Bow Club, 1112 Mendlik Ave., Antigo. Hunter Education classes will be Sept. 5th 4:30-8pm, Sept. 6th 5-8pm and Sept. 8th from 9am to 3pm. The cost of this class is $10. There will also be a Combined Hunter & Bow Hunter Education Class on Sept. 9th from 8:30am to 3:30pm. To be eligible for the bow hunter class, completion of a hunter education class is a prerequisite. The bow hunter class is $10. All hunters born after 1973 are required to pass a hunter education class. Bow hunter education is not required in Wisconsin, but some states do require this for archery hunting in their states.  Wednesday Night Road Bike Ride September 5th 5:15pm Langlade County Courthouse, 800 Clermont St., Antigo. The road biking group meets every Wednesday evening at 5:15pm at the Langlade County Courthouse. Bike along as often as you like. For more information, please call Brady at 715-623-3036.

Stumble Stump Rendezvous September 6th-9th Springbrook Walking Trail, in the clearing just off of Virginia St., Antigo. The Stumble Stump Rendezvous is a camp full of re-enactors of the fur trapping and trading era of the 1800s. Volunteers dress in period clothes and put on demonstrations including craft demonstrations, candle making, leather working, cooking, knife throwing, & black powder demonstrations. Play & Learn September 6th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers & children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents & children to do together.  The activity will build skills for school readiness & milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages & Stages questionnaires are made available to parents & caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. Minocqua No Frills Marathon & Half Marathon September 8th 7am-1pm Nokomis Community Park, (20 miles south of Minocqua) Hwy. L, Tomahawk. This event is planned to accommodate those who aspire to run their first marathon, as well as veteran runners trying to better their times or qualify for Boston. Also, the “No Frills” name indicates this will be a minimalist event. For now we will stick to our mantra: “It’s all about the race”. The registration fee is just $45. Register until, Friday, Sept 7 until 5pm at the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce, Hwy. 51 S, Minocqua or Saturday, Sept. 8 between 6am & 7am at the registration/bib pick-up table at Nokomis Community Park, Hwy L. Included in Registration: complimentary shuttles (for racers only) from municipal parking lot on Hwy. 51 downtown Minocqua near Minocqua Post Office. Leaves at 6am for marathon runners & 7am for ½ marathon runners. There will be several aid stations, all with water & PowerAid & some with cookies or fruit.  Antigo Farmer’s Market September 8th 8am-Noon Heinzen Pavilion, 603 6th Avenue, Antigo. All produce is locally grown by the vendor who sells them. Shopping at the Antigo Farmer’s Market is a great way to get local, in season food, and make connections with the people that grew it.

The Wolfman Triathlon September 8th 8am Gardner Dam Scout Camp, N2940 Gardner Dam Road, White Lake. Paddle down a 3-mile class II section of the Wolf River, then hop on your mountain bike for a 13mile ride and finish with a 3 mile trail run. SepTimber Ride September 8th 8am Tribute Brewing Company 1106 N. Bluebird Rd., Eagle River. Join us for one of two great rides: A trail ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Three Lakes Winery & back on the Three Eagle Trail (28 miles). A 50K Northwoods Road Ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Conover area on a loop route (31 miles). We invite all riders back to Tribute Brewing Company where a brat picnic with all the fixings & door prizes will be available.

Ice Age Trail-Langlade County Chapter Summer Trail Hike September 8th 9am-3pm Langlade County Forestry Office, 1633 Neva Road, Antigo. Dash4Stache Benefit for Walk and Raffle for Alex Hintz September 8th 9:30am Registration Antigo High School, Listle Field, 1900 10th Ave., Antigo.  Dash 4 Stache - Alex Hintz Benefit Walk will be held at 10 am to 1 pm at the Listle Field at the Antigo High School. Alex Hintz is currently fighting Hodgkin Lymphoma. Proceeds of this benefit walk will help offset the cost of living, travel & medical bills. Registration is $25. Antigo MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers), a chapter of international group that offers encouragement and support to moms of kids ages 0-5. We have relevant and interesting speakers, fun crafts, yummy food and free childcare while we meet.
