Our monthly donation focus for month of September will be canned protein: chicken, tuna, turkey & ham. The following is a testimonial from an individual helped by the Antigo Community Food Pantry this year: “I live on $660 a month. I own my own home, but can’t even pay my taxes. They pantry helps so I can eat.”

Monday Night Run/Walk with Jack Lake Silent Sports Association September 9th 5:30-8:30pm Jack Lake Mountain Bike Trail, N8375 Park Road, Deerbrook. Start your week out on the trail! Join the Jack Lake Silent Sports Association on Mondays at 5:30 pm for a run/walk on the single track trails. They will meet at the trailhead located to the right when entering Veterans Memorial Park. You can then run, hike, or skip your own distance and pace and meet back when you are finished. Strong Bones Exercise September 10th & September 12th (Every Tues. & Thur.) 9-10am Langlade County Senior Center, 1225 Langlade Rd., Antigo. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Classes are offered for an hour, twice a week. Tuesday Morning “Geezer” Bike Rides September 10th 9am Peaceful Valley Warming House, 420 Field St., Antigo. Tuesday Morning “Geezer” Bike Rides are every Tuesday morning. Second Tuesday Concert September 10th 6-8 p.m. WOW Art Park, 114 Vinal Street, Wittenberg. The Silhouettes will be playing for the concert. They are a 4 piece band playing country music as well as rock ‘n’ roll oldies. Their various instruments include guitar, steel guitar, mandolin, drums & bass. As always, the Concert is free to the public, sponsored by Crossroads Community Theatre & Walls of Wittenberg! Bring chairs, snacks & beverages to enjoy. Preschool Story Time September 11th 10:30-11:30am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven't started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we'll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play. This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

2nd Annual Jack Lake Trail Run September 14th 7am Jack Lake Mountain Bike Trail, N8375 Park Road, Deerbrook. There will be a free, 1m kids run, followed by a 5k and a 7.5mi trail run. The kids’ run starts at 8:30am, the mass start for the 5k and 7.5 mi will be at 9am. The kids’ run is free, but registration information will be required. The cost for the 5k & 7.5mi. is $25. 20th Annual Lakes and Leaves Bike Ride September 14th 8am Summit Lake Park, US Highway 45, Summit Lake. This annual ride offers some of the most beautiful road riding in Langlade County. As a result of completing the Recovery Coach Training, Dr. David MacIntyre & Benjamin Dahms have started a new recovery group meeting at Langlade Hospital. It is open to any individual recovering from any addiction, their family, and friends.
