FREE HIV & Hepatitis C Testing September 30th & October 1st Langlade County Health Department & Family Planning Health Services, 1225 Langlade Rd, Antigo. Testing is available for individuals who are at high/moderate risk for HIV and Hepatitis C. Dr. Fuhrman Eat for Health Video Lecture Series September 30th 5-7pm Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for a 6 week video lecture series to learn how you can have renewed, incredible health. Learn what foods provide the highest concentration of nutrients & how we can protect our bodies from disease. This week’s topic is reversing heart disease & diabetes. Free admission. Parrish Highlanders ATV Annual Fall Color Ride October 1st-3rd on the Dead Horse Trail in Clam Lake. Thursday will be a short ride in the afternoon with a bonfire in the evening. On Friday there will be a day ride & lunch on the trail. We will return for a bonfire, stories, beverage hour & dinner. On Saturday we’ll have another fun filled day. Please note that UTVs 50” in width is the maximum allowed in the national forests. Outside of the national forest, 65” widths are the limit. Hibernator 100 Bike Race October 3rd Laona. 8am for the bikes, 8:30am for the runners. A 100 mile or 100 K or 29 mile limited support gravel road ride through the Nicolet National Forest hosted by the Laona Rescue Squad. Now is the time to pack in some more miles and enjoy the amazing fall colors of the Nicolet National Forest. Something for the non-riders. Walk/Run/Hike 5, 10 & 20 K routes will be available for those looking to see the Nicolet by foot. There is no registration fee. A donation of $20 will help cover expenses and support the Laona Rescue Squad.

Cowboy Reenactment October 3rd Camp 5 Museum, 5068 U.S. Hwy. 8, Laona. Step back in time & come take part in a Wild West train robbery. An authentic cowboy reenactment & robbery of the Lumberjack Steam train. Come and ride the train and experience the Wild West up close. In addition to the train robbery, the group will form a posse that will bring the bandits to justice...or justice will be brought to the bandits! Saturday Fall Festival October 3rd Camp 5 Museum, 5068 U.S. Hwy. 8, Laona. Enjoy the colors of northern Wisconsin from the windows of the Lumberjack Steam Train. Award-winning Green Treasure Forest Tour, pumpkin patch, face painting, marshmallow roast and fresh apple cider. An exciting event for children of all ages! Bright Futures 5K Color Run/Walk October 3rd 9am Langlade County Fairgrounds, 1633 Neva Road, Antigo. The run will begin at the Langlade County Fairgrounds at 9am continuing on through some of Antigo’s neighborhoods & onto the Springbrook Trail. Be prepared to become a human canvas getting splashed with color throughout the course. Along with the 5K, the 1-mile fun run is back. Following the race, we will have food & refreshments. Our goal is to encourage children & their families to live healthier lifestyles & make more time for each other by participating in this event. Everyone is welcome from young to old, from beginners to novice runners & walkers. The event focus’s less on time & more on fun, family & fitness! Individual registration is $30. Ice Age Trail Langlade County Chapter National Trails Day Hike October 3rd 9am Langlade County Forestry Office, 1633 Neva Road, Antigo. Participants are encouraged to wear suitable clothing & bring a lunch. Transportation to the trailhead northeast of Antigo will be provided from the fairgrounds. The hike will be a 5 mile trek of the Lumbercamp segment between Cty. Trk. S & Cty. Trk. A. The outing provides a fine opportunity to get out & enjoy the brilliant fall colors with a stroll through a portion of the state’s Peters Marsh Wildlife Area. Antigo Marching Band Showcase Event October 3rd 6:30pm Schofield Stadium, Antigo. (Schofield Stadium is on the lot between Deleglise Street and Elm Street). This is a Wisconsin School Music Association sanctioned event. We are honored to be showcasing marching bands from Antigo Middle School, Lakeland High School, Rhinelander High School, Marathon High School, Merrill High School & Antigo High School. The rain location will be Sheldon Fieldhouse on the campus of Antigo High School.
