Since the beginning of the month, Family Dollar of Antigo has been receiving donations for the Giving Tree of the Langlade County Humane Society.
According to store general manager Christine Stanford, the humane society rendered a Christmas wish-list of items the facility is in need of. In turn, the store has received an overwhelming response, amounting to over 100 pounds of various pet foods, gallons of cleaning chemicals and an array of other needed items including trash bags and paper towels.
"Every year we pick an organization to help over the holidays.” Stanford states.
“For November I thought it would be great to help out the animals over at the humane society. It's a great cause and the response so far has been just great! We are very appreciative for everyone who has donated!"
Next month the store will begin accepting donations for 'Toys for Kids'.
"Any toy will be accepted and given to a child. Nothing is held back.” Stanford adds.
For those who may be interested in welcoming a new addition to their family over the holidays, Family Dollar also holds an updated list of pets available for adoption at the Langlade County Humane Society.
Those interested in donating, or who would like more information may stop into Family Dollar at 717 Superior Street between their holiday hours of 8AM-10 PM or call (715) 623-0060.
