This past Wednesday, an extremely quick Antigo Common Council meeting was held at City Hall, lasting little more than ten minutes and dealing with relatively minor concerns.

Alderman Tom Bauknecht (Ward 4 representative) took the helm as the presiding officer in the absence of Mayor Bill Brandt. After the approval of the consent agenda, the only resolution that was on the docket was the approval of a bid to repave Irving Street, passing 9-0.

Glenn Bugni, the Ward 7 alderman, went on to say, “We need to deal with these road repairs in our city, even if that means finding other revenue streams to finance them.”

Tim Kassis of Ward 3 agreed.

“Not only do we need to deal with these road repairs but we also need to prioritize them,” Kassis added.

Irving Street, a small, curved road jutting off of Superior St. from Gunkel’s Bakery to the Antigo Block Company, appears to suffer from lack of upkeep.
