James Mantor, of Antigo, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at Oscar G. Johnson Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He was 65 years old. He was born on March 11, 1950 in Antigo, a son of George and Gladys (Kronser) Mantor. He married Audrey Volkman on June 12, 1976 at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo. She survives.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1968 and served in the United States Air Force from November 1969 - June 1973 having been stationed in Alaska.
He attended North Central Technical College for two years. Jim worked for many years for Master Gas in Antigo, retiring in 2004.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, playing softball, cards and trips to the casino.
Survivors including his wife are a daughter, Sara (Matt) Warren, Antigo; a son, Chris (Stacy) Mantor, Antigo; four grandchildren Hailey and Derek Warren; Collin and Cason Mantor; a sister, Diane (Marlowe) Embree, Wausau; three brothers, Richard (Gay) Mantor, Thomas and Gerald Mantor all of Antigo; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Joanne (Fred) Benkusky.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
