Jean R Flayter

Jean R. Flayter, formerly of Lily, died Monday February 15, 2016 at Homme Home in Wittenberg.

Jean was born on February 27, 1931 in the Town of Ackley to the late Louis and Leona (Frank) Domke.

She grew up on the family’s dairy farm and graduated from Antigo High School in 1948.

She was united in marriage to Robert Flayter on August 8, 1952 at Unity Evangelical Reformed Church in Antigo. Bob preceded her in death on May 18, 1985.

Jean worked for Weinbrenner Shoe Factory. Jean also operated a farm raising beef and chickens. She later worked for Johnson Coil and Electric.

Jean became a member of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pickerel.

Jean enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and dogs Tornado and Peanut. She also was a member of Lily Snobirds Snowmobile Club.

Jean is survived by a brother-in-law Lawrence “Hap” Flayter of Peoria, AZ, a niece Beverly (Louie) Krivoshein of Gleason, 2 nephews, Gary (Cheryl) Domke of Antigo and Gary (Peggy) Domke of Antigo, and her dear friend Lila Crum.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roy, Ralph and Lester Domke and her dear friend and companion, Paul Walter, Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Jeremiah Worman will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 AM until the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
