Jeffery Duane Marshall, age 58 of Pickerel, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born on October 22, 1959, in Milwaukee, a son of the late Betty (Grams) Marshall and Duane Marshall of Pickerel. He married Diane Hell on February 9, 2007 in Crandon. She survives.
He attended the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where he received a Masters Degree in Aquatic Biology and Chemistry. He worked at the University for several years.
Jeff served in the United States Army Reserves for a total of 22 years. He was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal for his active duty service as a combat engineer/heavy equipment operator in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In 2005, following military service, he moved to Pickerel. He became the Forest County Potawatomi Community Solid Waste Program Administrator for 10 years. Due to illness, he retired in 2015.
Jeff enjoyed hunting with his father, fishing and riding the pontoon with his wife and furry friend Scout.
Survivors including his wife and father are a sister, Dawn (Chris) Craine, Slinger; a brother, Daniel (Roxanne) Marshall, Indianapolis, Indiana; seven nieces and nephews; one great-nephew and one great-niece; two brothers-in-law, Kent Hell and Scott Hell both of St. Francis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with military honors conducted by Antigo Veterans to follow.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
