Langlade County Senior Citizens Club Meeting - June 14th

The next meeting of the Langlade County Senior Club is Tuesday June 14, 2016 from 12:pm to 3pm. We meet at the Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont Street, Antigo; in the meeting room off the main hallway. Guests are always welcome to join in on the meal and check us out.

This is our summer picnic meeting where members are to bring a dish to pass and the club will provide the meat as well as plates. Plastic wear and napkins.

Our meeting opens for some general discussion of any member’s previous months activities; any illness’s of members; and recognizes those who have grown one year older. We then hold a door prize drawing for 10 lucky winners as well as play some light hearted bingo. Please call Doug at 715-623-2253, if you have any questions.

At our may 2016 Meeting Kathy Schultz, from our Aging Disabilty Resource Center: (a) talked about spring house cleaning with all the documentation a person needs to keep and what to throw away, like atm receipts, credit card receipts, insurance policies, vehicle documents and even inventory a safe deposit box you may have; (b) she also talked about outpatient therapy and what is your liability; (c) the farmer market $25 coupons will be distributed on June 15 on a first come basis. Our Aging Disability and Resource Center office is located at, 1225 Langlade Road, Antigo.

Under the President’s report he: (a) spoke on having our summer picnic at 12pm on June 14; (b) a pick up a bundle of Alliance for Retired American Friday Alerts on: medical errors are the 3rd leading reason for death in America; the Older Americans Act has been signed and some of the benefits are with the meals on wheels and financially helping seniors stay in their own home; and the Paul Ryan has not been able to get a national budget passed in the House of Representatives.

Check us out and please bring your ideas for club activities which are not only important to seniors but for the betterment of our community. Our procedure is to allow any first time attendee to enjoy taking part in our door prize drawing and bingo. Upon their return at another meeting we would hope they would join.
