Laura A. Crawford (nee Hetzel) age 68 of Birchwood, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Froedtert-St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend, surrounded by her loving family.
Laura was born February 9, 1951 to Georgia (nee Zwicky) and Walter Hetzel in Hartford, WI. Laura graduated Hartford High School. She was united in marriage to Lyle J. Crawford on August 30, 1969 in Hartford. They lived in Texas where she managed a grocery store until moving to Birchwood, WI in 1985, where Laura and Lyle ran a dairy farm. Laura also operated her own cleaning service for resorts, small businesses, and residential. Later in life Laura waitressed and tended bar at various resorts and assisted many family members raising their children. Laura enjoyed crocheting, playing the accordion, attending her children and grandchildren’s events, cooking, reading books, and most of all spending time with family.
Laura is survived by her sons, Justin (Mary) Crawford of Monticello, MN and James (Lori) Crawford of Cameron, WI; grandchildren, Reese and Cloe Crawford, Dexter Crawford (Merissa Miller), Atley (Dahlton) Quinn and Logan Crawford; great-grandchild, Aleyah Crawford; brothers, John (Debbie), Jeff (Lori) and Phil (Bonnie) Hetzel; sisters-in-law, Sandy Simpson, Cindy Chism, and Debbie Hughes; and brothers-in-law, Ron Fischer and Lonnie Crawford. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 36 years, Lyle; sister, Pamela F. Fischer; brother, Gary Hetzel; parents-in-law, Stanley and Fern (nee Finch) Crawford
A Memorial Service for Laura will be held Monday, October 21, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 W. State St. Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the Church on Monday from 3:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. Future inurnment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood, WI.
