Lenore "Norie" Igl, of Antigo, died Monday, March 19, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 85 years old. She was born on July 17, 1932, in Antigo, a daughter of the late Walter and Eleanor (Novak) Shadick. She married Francis "Sonny" Igl on July 2, 1955, at St. John, Antigo. He survives.
Norie attended St. John Catholic Grade school and Antigo High School graduating with the class of 1950. She graduated from Langlade Teachers College in 1952.
She taught grade school for the Antigo School District and was a Title One teacher for St. John and Crestwood Grade Schools.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, a member of the Alter Society and taught religion classes. She also distributed communion to parishioners in their homes.
Norie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed the many years of camping at Shady Brook Camp Ground, Post Lake.
In addition to her husband survivors include two daughters, Debbie Igl of Wausau and Jayne (Paul) Wirth of Weston; three sons, Walter (Barbara) Igl of Merrill, Edward (Brian) Igl of Appleton and Joe (Cindy) Igl of Antigo; seven grandchild, Jason, Whitney, Logan, Brieanna, Hunter, Madelyn and Caden; two great-grandchild, Kyle, Leonardo; three brothers, Walter "Don" (Eloise) Shadick of Winter Haven, FL, Roland (Clara) Shadick of Weyerhaeuser and Kenneth (Margaret) Shadick of Shawano. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Kelm; and niece, Nancy Shadick.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 12 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be Thursday in the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
