The claims by, stating that Antigo is a low-performing district, are false.  Here is the rank order list of districts with over 1000 students within 60 miles of Antigo with over 1000 students. The table includes the district name, accountability score from the 2015-16 DPI Report Card and the poverty percentage for the student body.

DistrictAccountability ScorePoverty %
Tomahawk7936.3
Medford76.739.3
Northland Pines75.141.6
Antigo72.655.5
Stevens Point71.336.7
Mosinee71.126.9
Wausau70.943.6
DC Everest70.332.3
Oconto67.847.6
Peshtigo67.237.3
Rhinelander66.548.9
Merrill65.345.2
Shawano64.847.5

As the table indicates, Antigo has the highest poverty percentage, but still ranks fourth of thirteen school districts in accountability score.

I don't live in the district, but I have over 30 years experience dealing with school related data and know that it is important for school district residents to have accurate data to make important decisions.  I don't have an opinion on the consolidation issue, but I have an interest in providing accurate data to the district residents who will make a decision on this matter.

Sincerely,

Terry Fondow
