For the Antigo Times
Yesterday's bear sighting picture was provided by Amy Beth Weeks, a local photographer who frequently submits candid photographs to the Antigo Times.
“I've been an avid photographer since I learned how to press the button as a child," Weeks said. "I was raised in Pickerel and that's where I really developed the passion for photography, even though I knew very little about the technical side of it."
"Now, at 24, I am enrolled in the distance learning program through NYIP (New York Insititute of Photography) where I will be certified in the Complete Course of Photography by sometime in mid-2017. Right now I offer local services such as family portraits, engagements and wedding services, breastfeeding portraits, which is new, and other miscellaneous subjects," Weeks added.
"In the future, I hope to be doing more promotional and entertainment photography. Although, I am fairly well happy with capturing the local scenery - it's all about perspective and being grateful for what I have. It's funny how after traveling the countryside, from North Carolina to California (Pacific Northwest) how I ended up in my hometown, for the time being, slowly pursuing what I love and where it all started for me," the young photographer noted.
You can check out Amy's new Facebook page, A. B. Weeks, where she posts daily pictures from things happening in town, sunsets, fields of flowers, portraits and the occasional wildlife animal.
