Myra D. Jones, longtime area resident, died at Evergreen Terrace in Antigo on December 22, 2014. She was 94 years old.
She was born September 11, 1920 in Deerbrook, daughter of the late Herman and Mabel (Frank) Fredrich. She married Fred Jeske in 1938, and he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Merle Jones in 1975, and he died in 2004.
Mrs. Jones graduated from Antigo High School in 1938. She worked as a dental assistant in her husband Fred’s dental office. She was also employed at Hunter’s Grocery, and on the Jeske family mink farm.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed time with her family, travel, cooking, the Packers, playing cards, pheasant hunting, playing pool, and her Pomeranians. She was a true homemaker, and liked spending her time in her home.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Walter Duff of Antigo; 4 stepchildren and their families, Robert (Laurie) Jones of Antigo, EJ Jones of Neenah, Beth (Michael) Fiore of Madison, and Jennifer (Jack) Rose of Madison; 4 grandchildren, Andy (Karen) Duff of Antigo, Tony (Lisa) Duff of Oshkosh, Tracey (Todd) Novak of Antigo, and Jenny (Jason) Cole of Sun Prairie; 8 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Nolan, and Tatum Duff, Megan, Andy, and Chris Novak, Kelly and Casey Cole; a sister, Alice Roberts of Philadelphia; and a brother, Warren (Peg) Fredrich of California.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elayne Duff; 4 sisters, Grace Dykeman, Zellah Kopeschka, Eleanor Guenthner, Jean Bradley; 3 brothers, Edwin, Arthur, and Lee Fredrich; and a great-grandchild, Zach Novak.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
