New Antigo Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach: Ivan Flannery

Posted

The Antigo Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Ivan Flannery as our new Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. We are excited to have Coach Flannery back to lead our program, and look forward to the impact he will make in the season next year! Please read Ivan's bio below:

Ivan is an Antigo native who moved back to the area after graduating from UW-Stevens Point in 2015. Since then he has married his wife Elise Flannery and now has four children Braxton, Diana, Douglas and Abigail. He currently owns his own private consulting forestry business. His parents are Todd and Lori Flannery of Antigo, and he has had three siblings (Walker, Alesha, Stacey) all go through Antigo athletics as well. From 2017-2019 he was the varsity basketball head coach; however, with the COVID pandemic the decision was made to step down as the head coach at that time. Ivan’s desire to get back into coaching comes from his deep passion for the game as well as his understanding that the Antigo basketball program as a whole is not currently where it needs to be. His goal is to bring Antigo basketball back to where it once was, which is being respected and feared by our opponents. Ivan’s focus is for the student athletes to grow as basketball players while growing into respectable young men.
