Orlyn Carlson, of Holiday, Florida, died Friday, November 8, 2019, at Heather Hill Health Care Center. He was 89 years old. He was born on May 24, 1930, in Antigo, a son of John and Louise (Bryant) Carlson. He married Ruth Burkhart on June 18, 1955, in Milwaukee. She survives and resides in Florida.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School in 1948.
He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954.
Mr. Carlson worked for the Falk Corporation in Milwaukee as a stationary engineer for 39 years retiring June 30, 1989.
Our loving husband and father enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and his family.
Survivors including his wife Ruth Carlson, are a daughter, Colleen Woodcock, of Holiday, Florida; a son, Daniel Carlson, Milwaukee; five grandchildren, Kent, Jamie, Laura, Mary, Danny; 13 great-Grandchildren; six sisters-in-law, Alice (Warren) Fuller of Lily, Mary (Raymond) Gibbs of Gresham, Millie Rudella of Greendale, Helen Burkhart of Antigo, Marvel Burkhart of Pickerel, Joyce Burkhart of Summit Lake; two brothers-in-law, Lee (Charlotte) Burkhart of Three Lakes, Floyd Burkhart of Bryant; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister in law, Leona Parsons, Doris and Carol Burkhart; four brothers-in-law, Paul, Otto, Milton "Wayne", Donald, Ralph and Edwin Burkhart;
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Bent Cemetery where Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors.
Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
