Patricia “Pat” Jilek died Thursday, August 29, 2019 in Antigo under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 87 years old.
She was born December 1, 1931 in Arlington Heights, IL to the late James and Marie (Johnston) Mulligan. She was previously married to William Utnehmer, and the couple had 7 children. On August 1, 1977 in Grand Forks, ND she married Jack Jilek, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2019.
Pat attended high school in Arlington Heights, before moving to Antigo in 1948. She graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1949.
She was a homemaker, and served the Antigo Public Library Foundation Board, and was vice president of the Langlade County Humane Society. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Neva.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Gwen Utnehmer of Antigo, Jean Brandt of Duluth, MN, and Janie Utnehmer of Racine; 3 sons, Roger (Karen) Utnehmer of Wausau, Patrick (Bonnie) Utnehmer of Temecula, CA, and Billy (Marie) Utnehmer of Sonoma, CA; a sister, Jean Dresser of Lake Forest, IL; 9 grandchildren, Nikki, Jay, Fred, Bill, Ryan, Garrett, Taylor, Coral, an Aubrey Grace; 3 great-grandchildren, Wesley, Owen, and Sunny.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy.
A memorial service will take place on a later date, with time and date to be published in a future edition of the Antigo Daily Journal. Pat will be laid to rest in Queen of Peace Mausoleum.
