Patricia Virginia Payant, 52

Patricia (“Patty/Trish”) Virginia Payant, 52, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015,

at home in Madison with loving family.

She was born April 26, 1962 in Antigo, WI to the late Charles and Virginia (Cody) Payant. Patricia led an active life and always remained a very special part of her family. She attended school in the Antigo School district and after finishing school she worked at the Antigo Health Care Center and CoVantage Credit Union. Later in life she moved to Waukesha, WI where she lived with her sister Bonnie “Kathy” (Pete) Duffek and family. While in Waukesha, she worked at Easter Seals. During the last year of her life, she moved to Madison, WI to live with her sister Anne (Paul) Duffek and family where she remained until her death.

Patricia was actively involved in many activities. For many years she trained for and participated in Special Olympics including a trip to an International Special Olympics competition in Minneapolis, MN. Patricia was an avid bowler throughout much of her life and was active in church groups and took art lessons for many years. In spite of all of her talents and interests, what we will remember most are her loving smile, her sense of humor, and her enjoyment of family gatherings, especially when she had the chance to dance.

Survivors include brothers Charles (Margy) of Marshfield, Jim (Barb), Paul (Shelly), both of Antigo, John (Dobra) of Waukesha, Mike (Ann Margaret) of Delafield; sisters Mary (Judd) Smith of Rothschild, Bonnie “Kathy” (Pete) Duffek of Waukesha, Anne (Paul) Duffek of Madison, and Maureen (Craig) Dalton of Minocqua; step-brothers Jim Sesil of Austin, TX, Dan (Teresa) Sesil of Yonkers, NY, Joe Sesil of Austin, TX, and step-sister, Christine (Steve) Schultz of Wausau, and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Kathleen (Sesil)Payant,

and nephew Charles McKenna.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Antigo with Father Charlie Hoffmann officating.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of the services at the church.

Patricia was dearly loved by her family and will be sadly missed. She enriched all of our lives beyond measure and will always be our little angel in heaven.
