Phyllis A. Hubatch, of Antigo, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital at the age of 74.
She was born in Antigo on September 23, 1940, daughter of the late Henry and Rose (Paajanen) Ehlers. She married Michael Hubatch on December 11, 1971 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Antigo. He survives and resides in Antigo.
Mrs. Hubatch was a 1958 graduate of Antigo High School, and attended private music school in Chicago. She resided in Chicago for 12 years, where she was employed in bookkeeping and as a professional organist. She returned to Antigo, and was employed as a bookkeeper at City Gas and Braun, Preboski, Brettigan. She was also organist for Calvary Lutheran and the United Methodist Church.
She raised golden retrievers, and enjoyed playing cribbage, canasta, and other card games. She was a member of the Antigo United Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a sister, Judy (Robert) McCormick of Bass Lake; a brother, Paul H. Ehlers of Lily; 9 nieces and nephews, Shane (Stephanie) McCormick, Scott (Kris) McCormick, Jason Ehlers, Bobbi (Rodney) Gillespie, Derrick (Becky) Hubatch, Jay (Holly) Hubatch, Cami (Mark) Baldwin, Michelle (Mark) Rost, and Tracy (Mark) Wilson; great nieces and nephews, Marina, Amber, Max, Sam, Abby, Lucas, Kasey, Zach, Amanda, Jesse (Becca), great grand nieces Bella and Aurora ; and 2 brothers-in-law, Ray (Sandy) Hubatch, and Stephen (Linda) Lis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepmother, Virginia Ehlers.
