Robert Palmer Sr., 79

Robert Palmer Sr., from the town of Antigo, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. He was 79 years old. He was born on August 29, 1935 in Janesville, a son of Merritt "Ole" and Lillian (Zimbeck) Palmer. He married Joanne Boldt on June 23, 1962 at Houston, Minnesota. She survives.

He was a graduate of Janesville High School and received a Bachelor degree from Milton College.

Bob worked for Job Service of Wisconsin in LaCrosse and Beloit. In 1961 he began a 34 year career with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as a parole and probation officer. The last eight years of his career were spent living and working in Langlade County.

He was a member of Badgerland Custom and Classic Car Club and the Sons of Norway.

He enjoyed fishing at his favorite lake near Lily.

Survivors including his wife are a son, Rob (Shelia) Palmer of Bryant; a daughter, Renee Tucker of Ft. Meyers, Florida; six grandchildren Micayla and Dakota Palmer, Chloe Tucker, Olivia, Anna and Ava Truelock; a sister, Joan (Jim) Haney of Janesville.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday April 8, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Four Corners Assembly of God Church, White Lake with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
