The skies over Wausau will welcome a superhero this May as Aviore, the aviation-themed character created by comic book legend Stan Lee, lands at the Wausau Downtown Airport for a special Armed Forces Day Celebration on Saturday, May 17.
The event, hosted by EAA Chapter 640 and held at the Learn Build Fly Education Center, is a free, family-friendly day honoring local veterans and inspiring the next generation of aviators, engineers, and leaders. Aviore, developed in partnership with the Stan Lee Foundation and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), was created to encourage youth to take flight—both literally and figuratively.
Coming straight from T.A.L.O.N. headquarters in Capital City, Aviore is flying his high-tech aircraft, Eagle One, all the way to Wausau for this special mission. He’ll be on site to meet fans, inspire future pilots, and show that the sky is just the beginning.
The event blends education, celebration, and community connection. A slew of featured events from warbirds and superheroes to hands-on STEM exhibits and family fun, there’s something for everyone. Admission is free and all are welcome.
